Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Not necessarily. I've been running mine at 1.8 V and 5 CAS (due to some mobo weirdness) and they failed me after 5 months. Kept getting BSOD, thought it was corrupted windows sys files, tried a repair install of XP and a fresh install on a new HD before I tried swapping out the ram.
I will...
Amen - as a fellow Canuck, I can second the difficulties associated with warranties etc and pricing. Generally if these cards don't go bust in the first 30 days, chances are they won't. And most decent retailers offer 90 day exchange policies for these, so you're covered anyway. Nope, keep...
Wait if you're not using it now. If you want to game natively on that 24" (what res?), you;ll probably need more grunt than the 9600GT. I suggest investing in something like a 4850 if you want budget performance.
I assume that's 98% load, not the fan setting. Although many cooling fanatics will say that's high, it's well within operating specs, and therefore should not be the cause of your problems. If the card is not OC, then it is likely a defective card that should be returned.
Not true. The GPU is the same, and the mainboard is too, but the ram, bios, capacitors, coolers, etc can vary. Probably other things too.
My opinion of zotac as a company is good. My 8800 GT OC is great, never once have had any issues with temps or other stuff. They gave me my mail in...
I was going to buy a galaxy 8800GT, but there had been so many different versions out there in a period of several months that I didn't think it was worth the risk even at the great price. Some were fantastic ram OCer's and with great coolers, some with bad coolers and poor OC on the ram. Then...
That's far too cool to be a problem. Unless the sensor is not reading the temp properly. But if your fan is set to 85% it should not be overheating anyway unless the heat sink was set wrong.

After you try the first time and it does not post, hold the off button until the system shuts off, then try turning it on again immediately. Repeat if necessary. This is similar to my thread http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1344679
We need more info. What brand of 8800GT is it? What are the remaining system specs? What are your temperatures like? You need to monitor these while you play. Sounds like the card is overheating. Come back with this info.
