Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Ah, actually, that does answer as few of my questions. I've purchased an i7 2600k.
You make a very valid point, one that I (mistakenly) had not considered myself. I'll search for some guides; are there any places in specific I should look that have more reputable knowledge?
Thanks for the advice.
Thanks for the tips. Yeah I'm not really comfortable with going as far as changing the voltage.
Even before I get to overclocking, should I buy an after-market HSF? I've read that a lot of people recommend the Coolermaster Hyper 212+. Would it fit my case/mobo? It looks pretty tall.
Once I get...
I'm a total newbie when it comes to overclocking, and I had a few question regarding how to do it, safe temp levels for OC'ing, etc.
Look at this post for my build. I'm only using air cooling. I haven't purchased any fans yet (I haven't even received my parts yet), but I would like to know if...
Alright, I'll go with the 460. If you have any other comments/suggestions I'm gonna go ahead and purchase all this stuff now. Thanks for all your help!
You hit v instead of ctl+v, lol. I'm sure I'll be able to find it. If I buy the 460, would I be able to overclock it to the 560 Ti speeds with only being air-cooled? Would you foresee I run into any issues with heat?
*EDIT* Found it! Here's the revised build:
Combo: MSI P67A-C43 (B3) LGA 1155...
Thanks for all the information! I just went back to the pictures on Newegg and, sure enough, it does have enough SATA ports. For some reason it looked like it only had 3-3GB and 1-6GB ports.
Will the case have enough space for all 5 drives? If yes, then I'm probably going to go with what I...
Awesome! I had a few more questions. How would a 460GTX Ti stand up against a 560GTX? In my earlier post I mentioned I could get the 460GTX Ti for $200. What does the "Ti" mean? Does 560 automatically mean "better than" 460?
As for the motherboard, would I be able to set up RAID 5 using the 4...
I'm grateful for the suggestions, but I have a preference for nVidia gpus. I've read a lot around here and it seems like amd is preferred over the comparable nvidia card because the price is lower, but I'd like to stick with nvidia.
This is my enclosure. If I can accomplish this setup within my case, I will deal with transferring all of that data somehow. If not, I'm just fine with the external solution.
She said she wasn't able to get much for a discount for the gpu because best buy sells them at-price. I'm not surprised they're overpriced. I'm not for sure on the prices though because I don't have it written down. The only reason I'd buy stuff through BB is because she can get the 4-year...
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Soft budget of $500. I'm not made of money lol...
