without going into the argument if the d40x is worth its price compared to the d40 or other comparable cameras, 729$ seems to be the MSRP without a kit lense and 799$ the MSRP with kit lense (see link below).

I just received the evga and replaced the ati x300. It is a whole new world!
The fan is quite annoying under load, so I will look into the VF700 and Artic Cooling Silencer.
Is one preferrable over the other?
