I am going to setup a water cooling system and I would like anyone's opinion on my choices.
Here are my computer specs:
Cpu: AMD Opteron 165 Denmark 1GHz HT 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core
Mem: G.SKILL Extreme Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR
MB: A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Video Card...
I have a question about Ram. Here is the Setup I am going to have and I would like to know what you guys would suggest.
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo 1GHz HT 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Video Card: eVGA 256-P2-N516 Geforce 7800GT...
Ahh I see now. They both have 128K L1 cache then. Still wouldnt you be able to hit a higher clock speed if you overclocked with the 4400 then the 165? Since you will be starting a higher clock speed initially.
Well with the 4400+ you get twice the L1 cache. 128K instead of 64k. That makes the 4400 worth it for me. Also it seems the 4400 is capable of 2700 with just air cooling where as the 165 needs water cooling to get that high. I would say the 4400 IMO...
