I have the HP Spectre 32 (same panel, same flicker glitch) and am extremely interested in finding a solution. I can confirm the issue happens over DP and HDMI. I bought a VESA certified DP cable to test with and will update. I am hopeful these forums can figure this one out. -

is 55" 4k too big for monitor?
I would say yes, 55'' is too big, and stick to less than or equal to 40''. I would also suggest not getting a TV, or at the least avoiding a VA panel, because your eyes will complain trying to read text on the screen for extended periods of time. At first I tried the XBR43X800D and had problems... -

Apparently this monitor is plagued by the same graphical or panel glitch as the BL3201PH, where half of the screen flickers with random junk for one frame. At first, it happened twice over three days, but it seems to be getting worse, up to around every two hours. It is jarring when it happens... -
