A long time ago, I had a 21'' glossy screen and had no problems, but I lived in a cave. I thought I could get by with the HP because of this, but I started having headaches from the pristine reflections. Unfortunately, this is probably the best 32'' 4k on the market (for me). I do not understand...
After having this thing for two weeks, and really wanting to love it, I have to take it back. While the glossy screen makes images look great, it is just painful with normal reflections in the room. My search continues...
I tested this theory in a way tonight. I've had my screen on for a few hours, and just noticed the glitch. I immediately touched the power brick and it is lukewarm :\
I have the HP Spectre 32 (same panel, same flicker glitch) and am extremely interested in finding a solution. I can confirm the issue happens over DP and HDMI. I bought a VESA certified DP cable to test with and will update. I am hopeful these forums can figure this one out.
I would say yes, 55'' is too big, and stick to less than or equal to 40''. I would also suggest not getting a TV, or at the least avoiding a VA panel, because your eyes will complain trying to read text on the screen for extended periods of time. At first I tried the XBR43X800D and had problems...
Apparently this monitor is plagued by the same graphical or panel glitch as the BL3201PH, where half of the screen flickers with random junk for one frame. At first, it happened twice over three days, but it seems to be getting worse, up to around every two hours. It is jarring when it happens...
I've got the monitor all set up.
First thing: Zero dead pixels. I am seriously blown away as I have never had this experience before.
On to other important points:
+ Input lag is unnoticeable as far as I can tell
+ Viewing angles are crazy good
+ Text is sharp
+ The screen looks great due...
Other than NCX's review (great btw), it is hard to find additional information on this monitor. I am a little worried about the input lag and glossy screen, but it ticks all my other requirements (32''+, 4k, IPS, HDMI 2.0).
I want to get into the 4k foray, and after trying (and being...
I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960. Input lag seemed higher at 4k than at 1080P, but I have no conclusive proof.
EDIT: RTings has proven me wrong (33.3ms at 1080P, 35.3ms at 4k), so I guess 33-35ms input lag is noticeable to me.
I may be pickier than most, but at around 3' from the screen, on center, the edges were color shifted and had low contrast, and I believe the loss of contrast added to my eye strain.
I do not have experience with other VA panels, just the one in the XBR43X800D, but based on that I would suggest...
I would avoid the XBR43X800D for use as a monitor. The viewing angles are poor, and on a 43'' screen the color shift / contrast loss will be very apparent. The input lag is noticeable (to me). Also, text is slightly blurry even at 4:4:4 and seemed to give me eye strain.
