i think stalker is going to be a big disappointment because of all the features that have been cut out. the graphics wow factor is gone. just doesn't seem like there will be much of a game left.

in the lab explosion in halflife, debris did fall down, and it was pretty random, but it wouldn't hurt you. you can have cool physics stuff happening and not have it kill you.
