Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Does this work for newly created Hotmail accounts? Typing hotmail... into my browser resolves to live.com and then the option there is to create a new "Microsoft account". Will that work with this offer? Thanks in advance.
Awesome, didn't even think about the gift card angle... Registered my four cards and will get GC's at the Japanese lunch spot by my house. Good opportunity to bump 3 of the 4 that I rarely use, too.
So many things I hate about AmEx, this isn't one of them!
Thanks OP, like your concise write-up...
Thanks. I went for two of the externals. Hoping to pop them into a Synology DS213+ or 713+ unit soon. Is there any trick involved to remove them from their enclosures?
Hmmm. both NewEgg and B&H have the Seagate 3TB for about $180 shipped ($169.99) right now. So for a pair, for me in WA there's a ~$27 savings over the WD.
Also, the GoFlex has a 2-year warranty.
(Search google shopping for "Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 3TB")
Thanks, I was thinking that too, but the photo of the cheaper drive shows the cable and such. I noticed the TD vs MWave thing too but I was just concentrating on getting a damn drive ordered! :) MWave is good on resellerratings so...
I see in the Newegg thread that the price for the 80GB 320...
:p :)
I went for the cheaper of the two 80GBs on MWave. Total was ~$41 cheaper ($168-$70 vs $140) than Amazon's current price, all-in, and assuming the rebate happens. Good enough for me.
Thanks OP. Here are the links for the 80GB 320s.

Can anyone see the difference (aside from $10) for these two? The cheaper of the two has what looks to be a newer (later)...
Anyone know where the Samsung 3TB is? I'm looking to upgrade 5 or so 1TBs to a couple 3TBs but would like to stay with Samsung if possible (very good experiences with the brand in the past 5 years or so...)
A quick google shows that everyone was planning on having the 3TBs out by last...
