I find it more comfortable and fitting than the Herman Millers I have at work and not so expensive.
I just received the NEC 2690WUXi today after ordering 4 weeks ago. The display is HUGE! I'm waiting to hook it up to my new Mac Pro which hasn't arrived yet. But I tested it out at the shop and not 1 dead pixel or bleeding. The date on the back was 02/2008 Rev. 4F so it's hot off the...
Thanks. I called the local reseller where I placed the order and he told me it comes with the Spectraview 2 software without the HW calibrator. They don't have the HW calibrator in Hong Kong. I guess I have to buy one. Any suggestions as to which HW calibrator works best?
I just placed an order for the 2690 but they dont have the SV version here. It's going to take 4 weeks for it to arrive at the shop. Anyone from Hong Kong know where I can buy the Spectraview 2 kit? I cant seem to find it on the NEC local site.
Better yet, anyone know where I can buy it...
Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if I had missed a difference in the specs between the two models. So apparently not, and the only difference is the SpectraView 2 kit (software and hardware) calibrator that comes with the "SV" model. Thanks
Its still quite fast. I'm in the market for one of these but they don't sell the 32MB cache model where I live.
Did you get the 750GB with 16MB cache (HD752LJ) or with 32MB cache (HD753LJ)?
Have you looked at the Samsung F1 series HD? They've 16MB cache buffer on these drives.

This is very interesting and I'm glad I found this under one thread. I have much to learn.
Does anyone have any experience with either the NEC 2490 or 2690 on a Mac Pro? I'm thinking of getting the 2690 on the new Mac Pros.
"Contrast that to a Mac, where the browser understands color management and this is pretty much a non-issue."
Phew! This is reassuring! My mind is pretty much made up now to go with the 26".
Hello, my first post. Been lurking here for some time as I'm in the market for a new display between 24" - 27".
This seems like a good display with HDMI,DVI-D and D-Sub support. It looks as though it is a TN panel. But anyway, I would like to learn more.
Here's what I found googling...
