Yeah I was looking at that model and I read some reviews on the avs forums - all very positive. Unfortunately, I am already stretching the budget as it is so an extra $100 as little as it is will be quite tough to manage. As for the TV tuner, it will be useless to me as I watch TV shows streamed...
Thanks to a promotion at Future Shop, I have acquired a fair sum of store credit and I've decided to spend it on a TV. I currently own a Samsung F2380MX which is absolutely fantastic but now that I have some extra cash, I've decided to get something better. I decided to move my setup to my...
I assume you are talking about black crush?
While that may be an issue with the original F2380, the new F2380MX fixed that problem. The picture quality on this monitor is amazing and the blacks are outstanding. As for ghosting, it does exist on this monitor but it is minimal and...
Sorry for the late update guys, I've been quite busy. Anyway, I finally got to play some MW2 on this a few days ago and the experience was great. I'm serious about precision and responsiveness as I'm trying to maintain a high kill death ratio and I play with a relatively high sensitivity. This...
OH. MY. GOD.
What an amazing monitor. Just picked it up today and I've only used it with my 360 playing NHL 10 and SC: Conviction but I can already tell that I will be using this for a long time.
THE BLACKS ARE PERFECT. They make a HUGE difference when playing ANYTHING. It's absolutely amazing...
I'm having some issues with my NEC EA231WMi and due to the fact that it's a replacement for a defective model I bought last week I'm getting the feeling that this is not the monitor for me.
I am very interested in the F2380MX and the Best Buy's in my area have plenty in stock. There is just one...
I'm having some minor but worrying issues with my NEC...
For some reason, whenever I turn on the monitor after it's been off for a few hours it makes a high pitched grinding noise that only lasts a few seconds. If I try turning it on and off again, there is no noise. Also, while playing NHL 10...
I got my replacement today and there are absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. :)
For those that are using this with a console, what would you recommend for calibration? The image quality out of the box is very good but based on the way it looks with tweaked settings on my computer's video...
I've been using TN panels for years. I mentioned in my thread (gaming monitor for under $500) that I have no problems buying a TN panel.
I initially purchased a Samsung PX2370, a monitor you recommended for the OP. On digital versus, the tests seem to have similar results to the Acer which in...
I think I'm getting my terms mixed up. There is both backlight bleed and uneven backlighting on mine. In the top right corner, there is some mild backlight bleeding but this is only visible against a completely black background so it's not an issue.
In the left corner however, there is a...
How deep is the black level on your PX now? Is the background of this site flush with the monitor's bezel? It seems to be pretty close on my NEC.
On the white saturation test I got the same result as you. However, on the gradient test, I did notice a bit of dithering. Is this a big deal? How...
Using a NEC EA231WMi uncalibrated with a few tweaks from my Nvidia control panel I am able to see square #1. The black level on this monitor is very deep after my tweaks and the shadow detail is perfect with very accurate colours.
On a Samsung PX2370, even after several tweaks, I couldn't see 1-5.
Well I have the NEC now and I'm currently using it. In my opinion, this is WAY better that the PX2370. Better colours, MUCH better black level, and a very sharp image with no noticeable "IPS glow."
This is an awesome monitor and if you have the cash, you would be a fool to get anything else...
I just purchased this today to replace a Samsung PX2370. Unfortunately, I forgot to buy an adapter so I had to hook it up via VGA. For some reason, there was a very bad yellow tint that was impossible to get rid of and the display looked very blurry. Although the Xbox 360 said it was running...
If I were you I would spend a bit more and get the NEC EA231WMI. I currently own the PX2370 but I will be returning it today due to poor build quality and lackluster image quality.
IPS is known for color accuracy and black levels. The NEC, although cheap, is a perfect representation of IPS...
