    Gaming TV - Recommendations?

Yeah I was looking at that model and I read some reviews on the avs forums - all very positive. Unfortunately, I am already stretching the budget as it is so an extra $100 as little as it is will be quite tough to manage. As for the TV tuner, it will be useless to me as I watch TV shows streamed...

    Gaming TV - Recommendations?

Thanks to a promotion at Future Shop, I have acquired a fair sum of store credit and I've decided to spend it on a TV. I currently own a Samsung F2380MX which is absolutely fantastic but now that I have some extra cash, I've decided to get something better. I decided to move my setup to my...

Samsung F2380 vs NEC EA231WMI vs HP ZR24w vs Dell U2410

I assume you are talking about black crush? While that may be an issue with the original F2380, the new F2380MX fixed that problem. The picture quality on this monitor is amazing and the blacks are outstanding. As for ghosting, it does exist on this monitor but it is minimal and...

    Samsung F2380 vs F2380mx

Sorry for the late update guys, I've been quite busy. Anyway, I finally got to play some MW2 on this a few days ago and the experience was great. I'm serious about precision and responsiveness as I'm trying to maintain a high kill death ratio and I play with a relatively high sensitivity. This...

    Samsung F2380 vs F2380mx

OH. MY. GOD. What an amazing monitor. Just picked it up today and I've only used it with my 360 playing NHL 10 and SC: Conviction but I can already tell that I will be using this for a long time. THE BLACKS ARE PERFECT. They make a HUGE difference when playing ANYTHING. It's absolutely amazing...

    Samsung F2380 vs F2380mx

I'm having some issues with my NEC EA231WMi and due to the fact that it's a replacement for a defective model I bought last week I'm getting the feeling that this is not the monitor for me. I am very interested in the F2380MX and the Best Buy's in my area have plenty in stock. There is just one...

    NEC 23" IPS EA231WMi

I'm having some minor but worrying issues with my NEC... For some reason, whenever I turn on the monitor after it's been off for a few hours it makes a high pitched grinding noise that only lasts a few seconds. If I try turning it on and off again, there is no noise. Also, while playing NHL 10...

    NEC 23" IPS EA231WMi

I got my replacement today and there are absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. :) For those that are using this with a console, what would you recommend for calibration? The image quality out of the box is very good but based on the way it looks with tweaked settings on my computer's video...

Looking for a gaming monitor under $250

I've been using TN panels for years. I mentioned in my thread (gaming monitor for under $500) that I have no problems buying a TN panel. I initially purchased a Samsung PX2370, a monitor you recommended for the OP. On digital versus, the tests seem to have similar results to the Acer which in...

    NEC 23" IPS EA231WMi

I think I'm getting my terms mixed up. There is both backlight bleed and uneven backlighting on mine. In the top right corner, there is some mild backlight bleeding but this is only visible against a completely black background so it's not an issue. In the left corner however, there is a...

    Dell U2711 Black Levels

How deep is the black level on your PX now? Is the background of this site flush with the monitor's bezel? It seems to be pretty close on my NEC. On the white saturation test I got the same result as you. However, on the gradient test, I did notice a bit of dithering. Is this a big deal? How...

    Dell U2711 Black Levels

Using a NEC EA231WMi uncalibrated with a few tweaks from my Nvidia control panel I am able to see square #1. The black level on this monitor is very deep after my tweaks and the shadow detail is perfect with very accurate colours. On a Samsung PX2370, even after several tweaks, I couldn't see 1-5.

Looking for a gaming monitor under $250

Well I have the NEC now and I'm currently using it. In my opinion, this is WAY better that the PX2370. Better colours, MUCH better black level, and a very sharp image with no noticeable "IPS glow." This is an awesome monitor and if you have the cash, you would be a fool to get anything else...

    NEC 23" IPS EA231WMi

I just purchased this today to replace a Samsung PX2370. Unfortunately, I forgot to buy an adapter so I had to hook it up via VGA. For some reason, there was a very bad yellow tint that was impossible to get rid of and the display looked very blurry. Although the Xbox 360 said it was running...

Looking for a gaming monitor under $250

If I were you I would spend a bit more and get the NEC EA231WMI. I currently own the PX2370 but I will be returning it today due to poor build quality and lackluster image quality. IPS is known for color accuracy and black levels. The NEC, although cheap, is a perfect representation of IPS...

    Gaming monitor for under $500

Yeah, I was looking at the HP and Dell but neither are available locally and both cost more than the NEC with no clear advantage to justify the cost. The Alienware had good reviews for image quality and build quality but it does seem like I'll be paying a premium for the features I won't be...

    Gaming monitor for under $500

As I mentioned earlier, I live in Canada. I would love to get a TV but sets like the Panasonic and LG cost at least $600 before taxes and that's out of my budget. I just read cnet's review for the PX and they prefer it to the XL so it looks like I won't be considering that model anymore. After...

    Gaming monitor for under $500

Will the 14 ms response be an issue? That monitor was my first choice until digital versus said to skip it if you're looking for a gaming monitor. I have also been looking at the 120hz Alienware which is currently on sale here in Canada. Using a DVI to HDMI cable, would the 120hz mode work...

    Gaming monitor for under $500

I have recently been looking for a new monitor to replace my Samsung 245BW. I bought a PX2370 last week but I decided to return it due to poor build quality and a disappointing black level. I will only be using this monitor with my Xbox 360. My ideal monitor would feature a fast response...

    NEC 23" IPS EA231WMi

This monitor seems to give a lot of bang for the buck and I'm very interested in picking one up. I currently have a PX2370 and I have decided to return it due to poor build quality and a disappointing black level. The only thing holding me back is the fact that the response time on the NEC...

    Samsung PX2370

http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/office/monitors/premium/LS23EFPKFKD/ZA/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=gallery The power button is located on the bottom right corner and shouldn't be hard to access. I have seen both monitors side by side and in terms of design, the PX looks better and...

    Samsung PX2370

Yeah, I'm pretty sure mine is defective. However, I do like the fact that the XL2370 allows you to assemble the stand by itself before attaching the monitor. That said, I really prefer the styling of this monitor and I was able to position it perfectly on my desk. I'm still debating between...

    Samsung PX2370

I bought a Samsung PX2370 a few days ago and I'm quite disappointed with the overall quality of this monitor. The image quality is quite good although the black levels could be better but my main gripe is with the stand. After trying to assemble this many times, the monitor always ended up...
