    Need a new gaming monitor

How long do you guys think my 226bw will last before it dies out? The capacitors started to make my screen flicker about 4 days ago. I don't expect to have the Asus before Monday next week. It takes about 2-3 minutes now before it's warmed up.

    Need a new gaming monitor

I'm going with the Asus. It seems like the best deal right now for a 120hz monitor. hardware is expensive in Norway compared to the US so the price on the Asus for me is 530$.

    Need a new gaming monitor

Reason is that I have to order it from outside my country.. That means I have to pay 25% more for it if it costs more than 35$ plus shipping. Oh and I want a 120hz monitor with fast response. :)

    Need a new gaming monitor

I hope 2x 470gtx is good enough to run demanding games at that resolution with a higher than average fps.

    Need a new gaming monitor

Cool thanks. You think the Asus VG236H would be a nice replacement for the 226bw in terms of responsiveness, ghosting and colors? That was actually the monitor I wanted to buy back in August, but it wasn't available here in Norway back then. Now it is and I guess there haven't been any...

    Need a new gaming monitor

It looks like I need a new monitor. My 226BW is starting to shut down. Flickering at startup for a about a minute now. I know there is a easy fix for it, but I cba to do it. I'm not that picky, but I need something that is just as good as the 226BW or better. Not smaller than 22" and I would...

    120hz display recommendations

What about the Asus VG236H? I can wait another couple of months to buy a 120hz monitor if it's worth the wait. To me it seems like all of the current 120hz monitors have their own faults. Backlight bleed, incorrect color representation, lack of osd settings, below average contrast ratio, poor...

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll go with the LG then. It sounds like a good choice.

    IPS overated?

I can go so far and say that I might not see the difference between 100hz and 150hz just by watching at the screen, but give me a mouse and keyboard and I would know right away. That's what it comes down to. You can feel the difference and it's not a placebo thing.

    120hz display recommendations

Alright. Which one of the current 120hz monitors out there would you recommend for gaming? 1920x1080 ones included. I'm looking at the Asus VG236H, but it wont be out here in Norway until the end of September.

    IPS overated?

I'm with you man. I'm a old Quakeworld player myself and there is indeed a difference. If I could get my hands on a 24" CRT with high refreshrates, I would take it any day of the week. For online FPS gaming that is. LCD works well enough for anything else as long as they can show 75hz or more.

    120hz display recommendations

Hey. I'm considering purchasing a new monitor for my new gaming rig. I currently own a Samsung 226BW S-panel. I'm used to the 1680x1050 resolution and I'm wondering if any of the 120hz monitors with this resolution is going to satisfy me. I'm also considering this resolution over the...

What is a good 19" to 22" widescreen LCD that can also 4:3?

When i try to change the scaling option in the nvidia control panel, it just reverts back to the current option "use my display's built-in scalling" Maybe its the driver, i don't know. 163.09. I'm using a Samsung 226bw s-panel. - Babel.

    22" Lcd Monitor
