You might have to enable the option to be able to change the FSB, or perhaps use advanced options. Most (all?) motherboards use default chip settings, so you'll have to enable the option that lets you change it. On my mother board, for example, I have to enable CPU Host Clock Control.
I tried 8x and the computer would freeze at the desktop. More/less vcore didn't change that.
Any suggestions?
Went back to 9x (3.4ghz), decreased vcore a bit, increased ram to +0.1, FSB overvoltage by +0.1 as well. Temps appear to be a bit cooler, prime95 is stable so far.
Am I perhaps...
Oh, I know it's not a good long-term overclock, but I'm really just playing around with it for now.
Why 8x400 instead of 9x355? What would the main difference be?
I do have G0, but 65c seems like a good number I guess.
Once I set the latency to 4-4-4-12, should I also up the voltage to...
About to overclock my new system a bit, so keep reading this thread as I'll be posting lots of questions:)
Q6600, 2 gigs DDRAM 800, p-35 board.
I'm running Prime 95 atm and for some reason my Gigabyte Realtek sound software is going nuts, and the 'a jack has been unplugged' message keeps...
Not quite sure yet. Partitioning the hard drive took ages, like always:) I'll have to play with it for a few days before I can really tell, but I'll tell you then.
A massive beauty, though. Didn't expect the CM 690 to be this big, but I guess my components really do need the space, and I'm comparing it to my previous case, which is a fair bit smaller. The Corsair 550 also has some really fat cables.
Seems to be working fine... just had some minor...
