7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

Well, the change of the motherboard worked! It was the Asrock Motherboard. The ASUS A8V-XE did the trick!

Could someone explain Dual 12v Rails and PCI-E?

I had a problem with my 7600GT freezing on certain web pages, but not in games, etc. It would freeze when flash animation was played (whole PC would lock up and need to be reset). This is my power supply: Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 ATX12V 500W Power Supply...

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

When I had the 7600GT installed it was registering at 54c. I won't be staying with the 7600GT for long though. I am ordering a 8600GT as soon as they become available on April 17th (launch date).

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

Well, I finally pulled the 7600GT and went back to the 6600GT until I get my new motherboard in a couple weeks. What finally did it for me was when I tried to print something and the computer locked up again.

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

Well, it will be a moot point come the 30th. I'm going back to a regular ASUS board, or a Biostar board, because I can't find an Abit that's in stock. I'm looking at these 3 boards. ASUS A8V-XE Socket 939 VIA K8T890 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail...

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

Yeah, I changed the timing to 2T and it didn't make a difference. It only does this when I have a PCI-E card in. With the AGP 6600GT, there is no freezing.

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

Well, I went through and tried EVERYTHING I could think of. I played with the BIOS settings ---- still freezing. I tried different drivers ---- still freezing. I flashed my motherboard drivers ---- still freezing. I changed my memory timings --- still freezing. I tried downclocking my Core...

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

I've been looking since I read that post. They are pretty hard to find in stock! I might have to go back to Asus or try out the Biostar if I can't find an Abit in stock.

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

I tried that as well. I put a fresh install of Windows XP on it's own drive to test it out. As soon as Flash was enabled on IGN's site, it locked up. Maybe my board is toasted a little. I have other issues with this board as well. I can't have more than one USB device plugged into it's onboard...

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

Been there, done that. No dice. It's something to do with having a PCI-E card on this motherboard. I swapped out the card back to an AGP--no lockups. I swapped out the motherboard and used the AGP card I swapped out with (6600GT)--no lockups. It's some issue that my board seems to have with...

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

Well, after doing lots of experimentation, it's definitely something having to do with certain Flash applications. I disabled Flash in IE and I have no problem going to the IGN website now. I will definitely get a new motherboard at the end of the month and see if it makes a difference...

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

It's the Asrock 939 Dual Sata II. It has both AGP and PCI-E. I checked the Bios and I have it set for PCI-E as "primary graphics adapter". Like I said, I'm using the latest nVidia drivers. The games all run as they shood. It's just this one thing. I got the page to load up yesterday fine...

7600GT freezing PC on certain webpages

I just got a 7600GT and installed it. This is my send time around with this particular card. The first one I got, I thought there was something wrong with it and RMA'd it. I went back to my 6600GT (AGP) and everything was fine. I decided to try this card again and it did the same thing the one I...

Has newEgg ever done this to you? MB Purchase Question..

Well, I'm sorry that happened to you and I'm sorry if I was wrong in my guess as to what happened. I, personally, have never had that happen to me dealing with Newegg. The only time I see prices change is when they have sales, etc. I always do a "test run" with the billing up to the commit...
