Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The fonts on this forum aren't the slightest bit grainy on my 226BW. Although I imagine that totally depends on what font you are looking at, and in what size. Anyways I haven't noticed any issues.
I'm telling you, people, you really should at least look at this monitor before you decide...
damn, some idiot really ripped them off. what a loser. although I guess CC deserved it if they weren't going to check inside the box after the return...
I can't compare directly since I've never seen the Acer other than in-store displays, but I love my Samsung 226BW for gaming, photos and all-purpose use.
But, you have them both right there. Why not compare them yourself, and let the rest of us know which of them YOU prefer?
Just read through any of the forum threads here and you will soon discover what backlight bleeding is. But, who cares? If you can't tell that your screen has it without knowing what it is, then it is clearly not a problem for you. There is little need to invent problems for yourself and then...
It's unlikely that it was vid card related and was most likely a screen setting. My monitor came out of the box on the cool side, and that was quickly remedied by adding red via onscreen controls.
I'm sure IF the two panels were side by side, AND you were standing relatively close to the...
get the Samsung 226BW. I wasn't sure until I got it.
And that crap about how it is only theoretically possible to look at a monitor from head on made me laugh out loud. Although the statement is generally true in practice, there is no way this is going to affect you unless you like to...
Hear, hear. It is so refreshing to hear someone trust their eyes rather than going on and on about the specs. For the record I love my Sammy 226BW even though it's only been 3 days.
and mavro, if you got the monitor at CC the store will retain a 15% restocking fee. So you'll be losing...
don't know about the specifics, but my subjective viewing angle tests demonstrate a 179 degree horizontal viewing angle as far as I'm concerned, with the only effect of horizontal angle shift being a slight dimming and darkening of whites as one approaches the screen more and more at an angle...
I just got my 226BW and it is excellent. No true focal backlight bleed even in the dark--just some very dim diffuse glow that I only notice when my eyes adjust to the dark. Lowered the brightness from 100% to 80% and lowered gamma to the middle of the three settings. Color is a bit cooler...
Two?? No wonder there aren't any in stock for the rest of us ;P
How did you get them at that price? An online coupon, or a store sale?
Looking forward to any photos/opinions!
Hey all, I'm planning on buying an LCD soon and I'd like it to be easily maneuverable as well as not take up any desk space. Therefore I've been thinking about getting a desk arm for it or perhaps mounting it on the wall above my desk (VESA 100). However, these both seem to go for $100-200...
The only thing the manufacturers need to do now to "give us what we want" is:
1. Stands that are nicer-looking/more sleek (think Dell), and are actually fully adjustable. I'll accept a $10 increase in price for that alone.
2. Keep signal aspect ratio/1-1 pixel mapping. How much would...
