Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
For the communities sake, what I did seemed to have worked. I brought the machine down, loaded up the BIOS at boot time, popped out the proper drives that displayed as "free" and re-inserted them. They reappeared in the raid set and it began rebuilding itself. It's indicating it will take about...
Looks like I messed up. Here is my raid status:
and my log
Looks like in trying to pop and push the drives back in I picked 17 and 23 instead of 16 and 22. My plan is to bring the raid offline, pop out a drive to make sure I have the right one (the identify drive function doesn't seem to...
OK, so the log doesn't indicate any failures. I'll make sure to change that option when I get back in tomorrow. So how do I get those two free disks back in the array? A rescue command first, or do I need to remake the raid set with that "No init" option I see in the manual
Halp! It's been so long since I configured this ARC-1680 card. I went to go pull data off one of our old servers and the machine beeped after the raid card initialized, but proceeded to boot just fine.
After rebooting and entering the raid BIOS I see the raid status as 22/24 disks (Raid 6)...
Looking for an IPtorrents invite.. I've never been a torrent guy so have no ratio credentials (yet), but I do have a seedbox and know how to read rules and not be a hit and run :)
Resurrecting and old thread to add info to the community. I borrowed a 680 card from my job to SLI with my home one not realizing it had 4GB of VRAM. After adding the CoolBits registry Dword, setting to 18 (hex!) and rebooting it is now letting me turn on SLI between a 2GB MSI card and an high...
So for the last long while we have been using MacBook Pro's here at work (running Windows and OS X) and the time has come to grab some new laptops. However, the price of the MacBooks are up there and we are predominantly going to be using windows to do simulation and graphics programming in...
I'd love to do a longer write up, but the TL;DR version. It's great and its not. IMO the 3D vision tech in terms of the quality of picture from the monitors and glasses is good enough with the lightboost tech to be worthy of more than people who actively desire 3D. That being said milage will...
This is going to sound terrible, but really measured brightness means next to nothing to me comparing 3D lightboost vs not. The effect really needs to be seen in person. AFAIK lightboost is all about having the LEDs send off an extra bright pulse at a critical time in sync with the shutters, its...
I'd imagine the color would be different. However when I mentioned "ghosting" I was specifically talking about 3D shutter glasses ghosting where in high contrast scenes you can see part of the left image in the right eye because of pixel refresh limitations. I'm sure in terms of 2D ghosting the...
Once you balance the colour and brightness to something reasonable about my only knock on mine is that it can sometimes feel a tiny bit washed out (blacks aren't deep enough, hard to find the right in between where colours don't look washed out, but don't look artificially saturated either)...
I don't use my computer for much other than gaming and websurfing and now that I've gone to 120hz (and 3D) I never want to go back. You definitely loose colour fidelity and deep blacks compared to a great IPS screen.
Sadly even if you have all the money in the world there is no kitchen sink...
I almost got one of these, the glossy screen is the only thing that kept me away (I'm in a pretty bright room). I've said it in other threads, if you are buying the monitor primarily for 3D gaming you really should wait to see if they come out with a lightboost version of this. The 27" version...
I'll double check when I get home, but I'm pretty sure my settings for desktop are 50 contrast, 10-15 for brightness, normal colour (a bit blue IMO), and gamma 5 (gamma 1 is too washed out). I'm fine with these settings, though I slightly prefer the way my XL2410 looks, its hard to get setting...
