Getting the performance out of the Oblivion 'Chuck' patch

I too switched from both 7900GT and 7900GTX (sli) setups to x1900xtx because of the problems, and got that exact same glitch with the oblivion gates. When you are semi-near one, you can see the glimmering effect through hills and trees and such. I saw another post at another forum that...

MSI D+ 4400+ OC strangeness and advice

Sorry for the double post, but is the reason possibly my memory isn't getting enough juice, since I left it entirely at Auto settings. I mean, the timings came out find, and so did the reported DDR and mhz settings in Everest, Sandra, and the BIOS....but maybe I could use a little more power...

MSI D+ 4400+ OC strangeness and advice

Ok, I will admit upfront that I am not an overclocking expert, but the lure of even more performance out of the 4400+ has overtaken me. I seem to be encountering a weird issue while overclocking and testing with my setup, that whenever I change anything in the Cell Menu of the BIOS, I can no...

    7900GT Performance Issues...(Clock speeds)

I will help you out on a couple of points - for what my opinion is worth, most apps now report the memory clock at 1/2 (since the memory is DDR, you must double it to match the "speeds on the retail box"). So if this is the case with the way you are looking at it, you are actually running...

Trouble with SLI i cant even get it enabled.

Did you reboot after checkmarking SLI? You have to do that although I found it doesn't always prompt you to.

Back to ATI and now questions (x1900xtx)

It seemed to be running fine. I got 5800 on 3DMark06 (with no aritifacts, yay). Didn't get a chance to play any games with it yet though. One thing I noticed, is that when it switches from 2D to 3D mode, it takes a couple of seconds (like even loading up an XP 3D screensaver)...whereas the...

A possible fix to these 7900 problems?

It is more then overclocking...or the overclocked cards. I don't overclock anything. My first build was (2) 7900 GT KOs. They lasted 8 days and I believe it is because I didn't do anything for 5 of those days (work). They are stock overclocked 520/1440 from EVGA. So I thought "overclocking...

Back to ATI and now questions (x1900xtx)

After the debacle of SLI'd 7900 GT KO and then 7900 GTX cards, I am back to ATI (where I should have never left, but that's another story). So I have my Sapphire 1900XTX installed and everything, after putting a Zalman Vf-900CU with AS5 on it. I used the newest Catys (6.5) and installed the...

how can one tell if ones 7900GT is bad?

You normally have to give it about 3-4 days. Run 3DMark06 every day for 3-4 days - either the whole suite just once or loop the Deep Freeze test about 10 times, then see what happens the next day.

3DMark saved test files - reason?

Ah, that sounds like a good reason and applicable. I guess I was just ranting because I wish you *could* reopen the file with 3DMark to see what score you got at a later time, in case you forgot to write it down.

3DMark saved test files - reason?

This is a stupid question but I can't find the answer, even trying Google. When you run 3DMark 05 or 06 (don't remember 03), finish the test, and get your score - you can then upload it to Orb, export to Excel, or save the the results to a file. If you save the file, what's the point? You...

Found this laying on the floor

I hate to say it but this is not the only thread/pictures I have come across with this problem. Those were from EVGA. Not knocking EVGA at all (their tech support/RMA/StepUp programs are great) but weird that people find these caps seperated in the box or on the floor.

Who's panicked by all of the 7900 series problems lately? Is there a DESIGN FLAW?

Thanks for the videos, Blue. There is one difference when I had the 7900 GT KO cards installed from what I have seen of your problem, and that is the artifacting going on with yours was 10x worse then mine...and that was even after several days of me trying to troubleshoot (so I was running...

Who's panicked by all of the 7900 series problems lately? Is there a DESIGN FLAW?

And that may explain why people who volt mod their cards, are better off, since they are increasing the voltage above what the BIOS is programmed to do. Unless I am wrong and that only affects voltage to the GPU and not the memory.

    EVGA 7900GT KO issues

I know, it would make sense...except that I upgraded alot of my system (MB) to go SLI and not Crossfire, and desire to drive 19x12 resolutions with this monitor. I am trying to do that with most eye-candy on. For the 8 days that the 2 7900 GT KOs worked, it was great. I have most features in...
