Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. I'm looking for two of these drives. I'd prefer the ADFD versions, as they have 16MB in cache, but I'd go with the GD version that has 8MB. I bought the two I have for $20.00 each on Ebay (yes, it was an outstanding deal, and I'm pissed that I didnt buy 4 more). I...
Without seeing it, and just given your description...it does sound dead. You may want to call the manufacturer. You may be lucky and it's still under warranty. :)
Good luck!
No, he's looking for a new UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply), not PSU (Power Supply Unit). The OP has a Corsair 1000W PSU.
No.. You will need to upgrade your UPS. The easiest way I've always done it, is just get the same wattage that matches your PSU. Now, do you really need that much...
You would need to get a lower-end CPU, or have ASUS send out a BIOS chip.
All the problems sound like it's a non-supported CPU for the BIOS you have. Check ASUS' support site and see what BIOS you need for that CPU and then see what BIOS you actually have.
The only other thing would be the warranty.
I like the manufacturers that offer a lifetime warranty. For the AMD series of video cards, I only know of VisionTek that does this, but I'm a huge Nvidia fan, so I haven't done a lot of research on it. Asus is a great brand, and they offer...
Yes, your last post got it exactly!
Since the new board is running the 1233, it wouldnt be able to detect an E8400 as it's using the E0 stepping. Flashing it to 1236 will allow it to see the E0 stepping CPUs. I'm guessing that the current CPU is running the E0 stepping as it wasnt seen...
Ebay has a bunch of stuff. You just have to wade through all the crap to get to the good stuff.
Heck, I have an old Asus A8V Deluxe board that I no longer use, but it's in need of repair. It's still under extended warranty, I just have not had time to send it for replacement yet.
I'd suggest an 800VA (or higher) UPS. That should handle most anything up to about 500W or so. (I figured in the Monitor as well.) The next step down, and you'd be pushing it. The power on the 800VA would last around 10 minutes or so. So, now you just need to figure how long you want it to...
I personally like the Scythe series of fans as well. I think they're great! Just find one that is under 25db and you should be good to go (although anything under 30db is pretty silent)! They're black (no LED's) and move decent amounts of air for their noise rating. You can get them for around...
It almost sounds as if it's not getting enough power. Are you using an 8-pin or a 4-pin 12v connector for the mobo. Or is it actually plugged in? Whenever I see a motherboard that just sits there and nothing happens, it's usually the 12v 8pin/4pin that's not connected.
If it is connected...
Make sure what BIOS your using. You need to be running bios 1236 (for the E0) or 1226 (for the C0). If you're not running one of those, you'll have to put in the old CPU so you can flash the BIOS. The minimum BIOS for the 6600 is 0302. (Note, that the 12xx BIOS' are all BETA's)
