Here is the the update, even though I can run the Q6600 at 3450+ I found stability a issue and had to back down to 3100 with Q6600. With the EVGA A-1 board go expert in bios set the FSB speed and run all voltages at auto.
The board will look at your FSB speed and adjust voltage. For me 1.39 at...
First off there are holes in the quads that can be exploited.
P-27 bios update was never stable at higher FSB speeds but went back with lastest and tried this with the last update p-28.
FSB of 1435 may not work so try FSB 1535. At 384 X 9=3454 core speed. Or 1534 FSB speed and ram unattached...
$525.00 Mwave and better prices on ram for sure. You will save up to a hundred dollars on ballistic. Newegg is milking every dime they can out of us. Nothing but Wal-Mart mentality. Screw screw screw
What I found amazing was how much cheaper MWave was on crucial ballistic, I'm a firm believer in that ram. They go much tighter ballistic series than advertised in timings. 100 bucks cheaper on 2 gig ddr2 8000 sticks. I always shopped at Egg thinking they were at the bottom or near in price. Now...
Yea, they do seem to be very good so far. The web site is where they lack . Some links are incomplete and you have to dig around to find what you want like ram. View all options usually gets what you need.
Well worth a look to save a few hard earned and in my case many dollars.
And the...
Just saved a bundle at Mwave

3d Mark 06 favors Intel and multiple cores. It will favor the quad core over dual etc. and it's very unrealistic in true gaming at this time. 3D Mark 05 is more realistic but still many games will play almost as fast on single cores as duals. They currently have AMD on their heels for sure and...
Here are my scores and before you laugh this was done with amd 4000+ single core processor oc at 3084 from 2400 with an ati 320 meg the cheap one xt1950xt. I payed 75 dollars for processor and 199 for video card from egg. DFI micro board 75 dollars.
I'm in the top 5 comparison with this setup...
Performance is where it should be for a 240 dollar processor. No better no less.
Intel basically is kicking butt on AMD for now. And when they drop price at the end of the month it could get real nasty. E6600 at 200 or less is slightly better processor than the 6000+ especially in 3D...
I was wondering if anyone has OC the 6000+, and if they did what motherboard and how much did you get out of it. The cpu I just bought has F3 stepping.
Newegg jacked the price of X2 6000 all the up to 499 from 239 for Monday morning.
They did this last Monday also so anyone wanting it Zipzoomfly and Mwave are still at 239 at time of this post.
I don't know if they are just trying to sell some of the other processors or just spur interest...
