Fair review. I always know I'm going to get the truth from you, good, bad, or ugly. With that being said, I am going to stick by my pre-release decision to stick with my 1800X until next spring. I anticipate even bigger gains then.
Great article; thank you for taking the time to do the research. From the outside looking in, it seems like Nvidia's driver engineers are fantastic and manage to eek out every last bit of performance from their hardware. AMD's engineers might also do the same, but for whatever reason, whether it...
My last couple of cases have been Antec cases. My current rig is sporting a (now discontinued) Antec 1900 and my previous rig was an Antec P193. What I love about both of these cases is the aluminum panels are covered in a sound-deadening material that really makes them quiet. I also love that...
Man I really appreciate the objectiveness of this site (and a few others, TechReport comes to mind). I won't buy a new CPU or GPU without reading reviews from both of these sites, which generally tend to confirm one another. In any case, with regards to the game, it sounds like if you're...
My LG 27UD68-W triplets came in and they're decent monitors. At first glance, they appear to have a micro-thin side bezel (maybe 2.5mm) but in all fairness there's a dark portion of the monitor's border which you don't see, so in reality there is slightly more than a 1/4 inch (maybe 6.5 mm)...
Nice review! I've used Antec Performance One P193 tower cases in the past and they're nice because they're coated with some kind of plastic layer and are very quiet, but they always have weird or poorly designed power buttons. I've been on the lookout for an equivalent in terms of quiet without...
Thank you for the info. I've had an Achieva, a Crossover, and a Catleap all fail on me over the years. After my most recent Catleap failed, I decided to buy an Acer K272HUL which wasn't that much more expensive and has given me no more trouble.
Just as a follow-up to this, the LG 27UD68-W is finally available on Best Buy for $499. I was a bit surprised that Best Buy of all places was cheaper than the Egg, but hey, it is what it is. I realize they're limited to 60Hz, but I can live with that for three years.
Thanks for the feedback folks. Perhaps waiting for Polaris/Pascal is the best move. I just hate the existing monitors I have are up to 1/2" off in height once mounted.
Thanks for your reply. I'm okay with the size of 4K on a 27. As for the refresh, I just don't know enough about the monitors that are out there to know if there's even a 4k 27" IPS monitor that has a higher refresh (I don't believe there are).
Hey folks, I got some good monitor advice the last time I came here and asked for it, so I'm hoping for the same. I currently have 3 Korean-sourced 27" WQHD monitors that I'm looking to replace with 4K monitors of the same size. I'm looking to replace my existing monitors because although I...
I know you're kidding, but now that I own a current generation green team product, I have observed that there are advantages and disadvantages to both sides (for example, 2D on my 290X seems much faster than than on my 980Tis) . But more relevant the performance difference in Heaven with all...
