LCD Televisions with 4:4:4 Subsampling and low Input Lag.

Someone besides me should try the Samsung LN32D550. I got it a couple months ago (rev. SQ04) and it has been near perfect for me. I posted my impressions here and on AVS Forum: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1643877 I'm using a DVI->HDMI cable from my ATI Radeon 5850 and the sharpness...

    OMFG!!! $3 for a preview.....

The joke is that you're unhappy about their right to charge for their services. If you don't think it's worth it, then don't buy it (just like I won't be).

    ZR30w Sucks!

You keep complaining about how it sucks and how much trouble it is, why not just return it at this point?

    U2311h Xbox 360 issue

If your soundcard has an optical input, you can try sending the XBOX 360's optical out to that. Otherwise, an AV receiver can work as a total solution so you don't have to swap your speaker/headphone cables whenever you switch from PC to the XBOX 360.

Looking for the best competitive FPS gaming monitor

Of course it is segregated. Have you played any PC/console cross platform multiplayer short of Portal 2? Consoles already support mouse and keyboard, but they intentionally don't allow it as a control option in most games. Their vision is to have consoles be a casual experience to be played...

How noticeable is picture quality improvement of IPS over TN?

The uniformity of TN screens even head on is poor. How much does this really matter if you aren't doing color work? Not much. I was trying to get a IPS LG 32LK450 but I gave up because all I could find was their A-MVA version. Ended up getting a S-PVA (?) Samsung LN32D550 and I was pleasantly...

    The 1920 x 1080 vs 1920 x 1200 thread

Given the same screen size, don't act like having black bars is equivalent to displaying in full screen (without any clipping). Black bars can be especially irksome in the current state of LCDs as make certain issues stand out like backlight bleed, blue LED tinges, poor black levels, and screen...

Just bought a Samsung LN32D550: initial impressions as a PC monitor

I've been looking for a larger monitor because I find that enlarging websites on my 23 inch monitors makes reading/viewing more comfortable. I got the 32 inch Samsung yesterday and so far it seems to work really well as a monitor/entertainment hub. Pros: + Its AG coating is lighter than my...

Is new Samsung LN32D550 good as PC Monitor?

LG xxLD450 and xxLK450 has better viewing angles, less blurring, and is about as good as it gets for input lag for a HDTV. Downsides are poor black levels and an IPS panel is not guaranteed (panel lottery). Samsung LNxxD550 has better blacks and aesthetically looks better. The LG is better...

Many new Dell VA monitors coming. 22-27"

This is good news because I'm actually looking for a 27" 1080p/1200p monitor and an adjustable stand. I won't be using it for gaming or watching movies in the dark, so my preference is IPS>VA>TN. I find myself straining to read fonts or enlarging webpages on my 23" 1080p monitor, so I'm not...

    Dell U2412M

^ I had to figure out how to ignore because of him. He's constantly asking for purchasing advice and then ignoring it only to make a new thread, or spreading around misinformation with broken English and enlarged fonts.

    Dell U2412M

And likewise most manufactures use "vivid" picture settings for store settings because bright exaggerated colors impress people in side by side comparisons. This thread has been helpful for me because I did not know that most sources were in sRGB. I don't see a point in wide gamut if that's...

is this a shipped dead pixel?

I've received a monitor with two stuck pixels recently and what you're saying is wrong. Displaying white over a green stuck pixel will display white. The green sub-pixel is stuck on but the red and blue sub-pixel can still turn on.
