Any know issues with ATI Silencer 4 rev. 2 and x800 xt pe?

Couple of weeks ago I switched over to Arctic Cooling's ATI Silencer 4 (rev.2) on my Sapphire x800 xt pe. Does anyone know if there are any major problem with the Silencer 4 such as the fan frying the video card or something? Although everything is installed by the book, some problems...

    GeCube X800XT Platinum Edition

PvP, where are u from? If you plan to upgrade within six months or one year, get yourself the x800 xt pe. If you don't, you'll want to keep the 6800 Ultra, which seems more future proof. IMHO. I don't know much about Gecube, other than they changed their name from Gigacube to Gecube. Some...

Disassembly pics of Leatek 6800 GT(56k, lose ye all hope)

Just thinking my Leadtek A400 Ultra is running kind of high on temps, that's all. Around 80' in doom 3, and I have lots of case fans blowing inside and outside. I've read some posts about cards with reference designs on hsf running quite a bit cooler. I'm happy with my Leadtek, but for my peace...

Disassembly pics of Leatek 6800 GT(56k, lose ye all hope)

Despite the large hsf, it seems that the nvidia reference cooler manages to keep the temps a little bit lower than Leadtek's... and I think that's only because of the bigger fan on the reference design providing a higher cfm. I also read that the plastic shroud on Leadtek is important to direct...

Disassembly pics of Leatek 6800 GT(56k, lose ye all hope)

Thanks for the help, DS. I noticed the first time your mentioning about how hard it was to put those spring-loaded screws back... so, I should be careful in case I will ever remove the hsf. Nice tip with the finger-pressure, that should work. I noticed there were also two plastic clips, but...

    6800 Ultra Temps

Leadtek A400 Ultra TDH: - 62 idle - 80 load - maximum temperature after one hour of rthdribl: 86-87 Celsius I've seen some very low load temps, like 63 or 65 or 68... How is this possible? Are you ppl sure that you read the temp while playing and not after you get out of the game? Try...

Disassembly pics of Leatek 6800 GT(56k, lose ye all hope)

Hey DS, how tight did you tighten those four screws on the back of the card (heatsink)? I checked mine couple of days ago I noticed they weren't too tightened. However, the heasink seemed to make good contact with the core. I'm affraid to tighten the screws too much because the backside heatsink...

    Leadtek 6800 Ultra temp?

Coolbits 2 detects 434 core and 1160 memory... everytime I go with "detect optimal settings". It seems quite low... I ran it only at 425 / 1100 and it works fine. Haven't tried higher frequencies yet... but as soon as get my temps go down I will push it... Coolbits2 is not accurate... the manual...

AA not working on 6800GT? :(

Looks like the 66.00 version isn't that good after all. Of course, it may boost the performance in some games, but that seems to come with a price: stability & IQ. It may also be directly related to people' systems - compatibility issues and such. For now, I don't see any major performance...

AA not working on 6800GT? :(

My eyes could deceive me, though :). Or, that particular card could've been a bad one, who knows? I'm no crazy, I know what I saw with my own eyes - looking at those floor tiles and seeing no difference when changing from 0x to 4x AA... The same thing happens with the military jet fighters'...

    Leadtek 6800 Ultra temp?

I'll check my temps tonight... if I remember well, the ambient temp (display) is around 45 C, as detected by the card' sensors. Saturday we had a cold front, with lots of rain and daily temps around 23 C (outside). My room temp was around 25, because I opened the windows. Didn't turn on a/c...

AA not working on 6800GT? :(

Thanks for the tip on "timedemo demo1 1" - precacheing. When I'm benchmarking, I always disable Vsync, only when playing I leave it on, because just like you, I don't like tearing. As for the CPU, I must admit it's kind of bottleneck - P4 2.8 GHz northwood core. Anyway, I had a chance to upgrade...

    Leadtek 6800 Ultra temp?

Hi there, I just switched from 6800 GT to 6800 Ultra (Winfast A400 GT TDH to Winfast A400 Ultra TDH by Leadtek). I don't know if that was a smart move, but I had an opportunity, as it didn't cost me too much (trade an old case + PSU as a difference and gave the 6800 GT back to the store)...

AA not working on 6800GT? :(

Yep, been there, done that. I noticed that thing on NFSU since I got my 9800 Pro. Anyway, I think that's the way nVidia's AA works.

AA not working on 6800GT? :(

I tested the 2x and 4x AA with a small application and it sure works, sot it's not the video card. As you said, it must be in the drivers. With my ex-9800 pro I could tell the difference between no AA and 4x AA. With 6800 GT, there's no difference at all! Thanks for posting. Lets hope the new...
