    Camera question

@GiGaBiTe, is there anything you don't know? Seriously, you commented on a couple of my posts and you know a lot about a lot of different stuff. Would you say Axis is top of the bunch? I sent them a message on their website after your recommendation but haven't heard back. I'll see if I can ask...

    NIC died on DS214+

I tried but couldn't find any info on the NIC and how it was connected on the device. Guess that is why I didn't see any videos on people replacing their NIC. Thanks for the info. Sounds like this is going to be a send back to dealer for repair type of situation. Thanks again for the info Gig 👍

Issue with “date” command in MacOS Mojave

nm, got it figured out. If anyone encounters the same issue, it is because you have to escape the % in cron so is should read like this: cp -n LastSession.plist /XYZ/LastSession.plist.$(date +\%F).txt

Issue with “date” command in MacOS Mojave

I think this is a "Full Disk Access" problem. I have added "Terminal" and "cron" to Full Disk Access. Problem is when I am trying to use the below command, it works from Terminal but not with cron. cp -n LastSession.plist /XYZ/LastSession.plist.$(date +%F).txt It works in cron if $(date...

best way to auto backup one file?

Thanks for the suggestion. I would rather not install anything on my computer to do the backup. Upon further research, it appears "cp" with the -n option will work. Anyone know if there is a better way to backup a single file to iCloud without installing any software?

best way to auto backup one file?

Keep losing Safari history on osx because of user error. The current LestSession.pslist is cleared and I have lost all of my tabs. I want to backup this file to prevent loss in the future. I don't need to run a full backup like with Time Machine, I just need to copy one file. I am thinking of...

    openVPN getting different gateways assigned

Apologies for confusion here. Think of the wireless access as a hotspot, i.e. hotel connection, etc. I am on the road trying to connect back to my home network so this AP is outside the network. There is nothing on network besides pfSense assigning addresses. So the wireless is working and I...

    openVPN getting different gateways assigned

It would def be a problem if it wasnt doing DHCP. One of you guys will look at this and know immediately what is going on with this interface. Appears to be a problem with WAN and/or default gateway. The wireless is assigning 192.168.43.1 and wired is assigning 10.0.1.1. WAN is in Red...

    openVPN getting different gateways assigned

I am testing access to my home network over wireless and wired connections. Over both connections, I can access internet. However, over wired connection I can't access my internal LAN devices. I can ping 10.0.1.1 over both but cannot ping 10.0.1.6 device over wired. The wireless AP must be...

    pfSense VPN compression algorithms

This may be getting into the weeds a bit but I am trying to determine the difference between compression options for VPN so I can figure out what is the best option for me. The book doesnt really go into it and google is failing me.
