Dual E5-2683v3 build [Warning large & many images]

Thanks for the offer, but I barely use 10gb from rendering... I simply got two more sticks to enable dual channel.

Dual E5-2683v3 build [Warning large & many images]

The rig is still alive and well. I've added 2 more sticks of RAM now, so each CPU has 16gb RAM. (Total of 32gb) There is no temp issue since the rig hasn't shut down even with rendering after a year. While I have an upgrade itch, there isn't anything better with the price range as well as...

Dual E5-2683v3 build [Warning large & many images]

I hardly go over 10gb in Blender. I don't think many go over 10gb. Even Dan Brown CGI's render don't usually go over 10gb. If I were you, I'd just go with Ryzen 1800k instead of two x5650.

Dual E5-2683v3 build [Warning large & many images]

Lack of RAM is due to insufficient fund. The setup required 2 months for me gather parts from Ebay and whatnot while looking for bargains. Currently, each CPU has 8gb RAM, so they are running in single channels. Of course, RAM is upgradeable, so it wasn't my top priority to get all of them at...

    Silverstone ST45SF power a 2500k and HD6950?

On the product page of Silverstone ST45SF, it says recommended maximum video card you should use is GTX 470. I suppose it should work but I wouldn't be comfortable.

    Silverstone FT03... matx

I've had the silver version for few days so far, and here are my impression. I personally would not recommend this case to anyone. It is a good case with a different layout. I can tell Silverstone tried quite hard to be original, but the entire case is not good for general usage. And there are...

New Lian Li PC- Q11 itx case : Specification & Feature

That was my initial take and why I installed it facing downward. But when I was playing GTA IV, the PSU's fan was spinning at max (Which was REALLY loud) and it was really hot to bare hand. When I installed it upwards and played GTA IV for few hours, the PSU's fan remained in low RPM and the...

New Lian Li PC- Q11 itx case : Specification & Feature

I've found out hard way that turning the Silverstone SFX PSU the other way, making its fan facing outward is better for the PSU with significantly lower temp.

New Lian Li PC- Q11 itx case : Specification & Feature

45c in idle and exactly at 70c at full load with room temp of 23c. GPU goes up to 90 since I restrict fan speed at 50% due to noise. It's well below T-junction, so it's alright.

New SFF gamers case: presentation and advices

Yes, I got the case today. I am not sure what to say about the case. The build quality is ... questionable at least to my standards. During the first hour I had it, I wanted to just return it but I decided to keep it. Overall, I am somewhat disappointed. This is not what I expected from 160USD...
