NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I'm honestly torn between this new DTX impact interfering with my other dream components, but it just seems so compelling still. Probably can't fit the Dark Rock TF for the CPU, a GPU with a backplate, aftermarket heatsink and bottom mounted noctua fans. I could just not put the daughterboard...

Any new X99 boards from Asus coming out?

If I could get a limited edition mini-itx TUF all white PCB, I don't care what it would cost, it would be day 1 purchase for me.

EVGA GTX 980 HC AIO and 980 Kingpin Edition.

Blower to expel all hot air out the back? Liquid AIO to prevent throttling? White and Black color scheme to match the build I want? Now this I can fap to.

You know, I don't mind leaving the side panel off entirely just to get this to fit. If it kept the temps in a 4770K in check, should cool even the highest end desktop Broadwell just fine. http://www.play3r.net/reviews/cooling/thermalright-macho-zero-review/6/ Maybe low TDP processors...

    Asus Z97I-Pro

As a fellow consumer I agree with you entirely. We should have had a Deluxe/Pro ITX already. But from a business standpoint, Asus would be going into next year with no ITX releases at all. Asus always has an ITX release every year, so in order to stay competitive they're going to have to give...

    Asus Z97I-Pro

Rebootin is echoing most my thoughts. The Impact VII is extremely high end. And the Plus is okay, but it doesn't come close to the premium feel of the Z87I Deluxe, which is why I think Asus might release a Z97 Deluxe/Pro next year to get another product cycle in for ITX. By Quarter 2 next year...

    Asus Z97I-Pro

Just starting this to discuss whether it's possible that Asus might release a Pro version of its Z97 ITX motherboard when desktop Broadwell comes out next year. What do you guys think?

I was considering a lot of things before the 970 came out. I maintain that the XFX R9 290X Black Edition DD is still the best looking graphics card I have ever seen, ever. Other than the batshit insane VRM temps, it had solid acoustics and thermals too from the reviews I read. Was willing to...

I understand, still disappointed. I guess I'll have to wait until the Strix 980 drops in price then. Or if another company makes a semi passive 970 that is very minimalist in colour scheme. I can't stand the MSI branding.

Now I'm sad. :( But there might still be hope. if you could call it that. On asus's website it says the STRIX 980 is 5.3 inches wide. I don't want to have to spend nearly 350 dollars more though. I don't need the extra performance right now. Edit: Was just thinking about an extreme solution...

Hey JaccoW. callumbolch confirmed on page 14 that the XFX R9 290 Double D fits just fine without modding the side panel. That card's width, according to XFX's website, is 5.63 inches. The Asus Strix GTX 970 actually has a smaller width based on the manufacturer at 5.5 inches. Which is why I...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

A user by the name of callumbolch told me that he installed an XFX R9 290 Double Dissipation in his M1 with no problems. These are the measurements from XFX's website. Card Dimension (cm) : 29.5 x 14.3 x 4.2 Card Dimension (inch) : 11.61 x 5.63 x 1.65

Dammit. Why did Nvidia have to release the 970 which is trading blows with the R290x. Build is on extreme hold. Again. The GPU in my theory builds seem to set the tone of every other component. I'm now looking at the Asus Strix GTX 970 which is $200.00 cheaper than the XFX Black Edition...

Those sound great. At least I'm on the right track as far as planning the gpu cooling. Read somewhere that somebody said their VRM went up to 105c, which believe it or not, XFX says is okay as long as it does not go above 120c.
