Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Vista x64 is not mind boggling faster than the 32bit variant. So I agree with the poster who says that speed should not be a reason to upgrade. Infact I don't notice a speed difference, I did right after I installed the OS, but it went away.
Unless you have more than 4GB of ram, want to run...
The problem is, my wireless connection never actually disconnects. I'm always connected with a 70%+ signal quality rating. However, pinging outside servers and my router yields 50-75% packet loss sometimes. Other times my connection is fine. This never happened on Vista 32 bit. I had it running...
I would NOT move to Vista 64bit or XP 64bit if you have a wireless internet card as your only means of accessing the Internet from your machine.
Granted there are one or two cards out there somewhere that have 64 bit drivers, the fact of the matter is all the major manufacturers are dragging...
Actually I was running 4x AA the first half of the time I was playing. When I disabled AA I didn't notice a performance difference (if I recall correctly). I think I'll turn it back on when I get home.
I'm skeptical about the claim of a linear performance gain with two cards, but those...
I just installed COD4 and I played the first stage and a half.
My setup:
Q6600
4GB RAM
Radeon HD3870
Asus Maximus Formula Motherboard
Gateway FHD2400
I get around 30-40fps at 1920x1200. I'm not picky about it not displaying at 60fps, I know for some anything less than that is annoying. I...
You can...but again it depends on your motherboard. Mine supports boot CD emulation using a flash memory device, but I found it easier to just place the driver on a second hard drive let windows detect it that way.

Oh yeah that would be loads of fun having to re-copy 250GB of...
I bought a defective 2GB SD card made by them. I had to call a very sketchy tech support number to get an RMA. The new card seems fine.
Granted this was over a year ago, they may have become a more upscale vendor.
Try different slots. I had a similar issue and it turned out that my ASUS Maximus Formula doesn't like Patriot RAM.
Check the qualified vendor list to see if your specific RAM module has been tested for your board. You may have a defective motherboard or bad CPU.
I had memtest failures with Patriot 4x 1GB PC6400 memory. I returned it for Kingston 2x 2GB PC6400 modules and they work fine. Seems like the Maximus Formula is picky with RAM.
I don't overclock, but I thought my experience would be helpful. Enjoy your Q6600, it's nice.
I have a RAID 1 setup with 2 x 500GB Seagate drives in Vista on an Asus Maximus Formula motherboard. Setup went smoothly.
Setup is going to depend on your motherboard manual (I know, it's typically not very helpful) and your chipset.
Make sure you update your drivers to the latest version...
Okay, UPDATE. I tried playing musical chairs with my RAM using 2 of my 1GB sticks and low and behold I don't get memory errors with a specific pair of 2 sticks at stock settings in my blue dual channel slots. The other pair give me an error on EVERY step of the memtest 86 process. Also Prime was...
