ok thanks i thought so, am i better off putting that 1 gb in another system? i didnt want any bottle neck on my memory, but i've read now that i can achieve faster memory bandwidths with 2 512s versus 4 512s and if i cant do 1T with 4 dimms that'd go along with that assumption
i cant seem to get a 1T config to work, i am running 4 512 Dimms currently, i read somewhere you are forced to use 2T if you are running full population on the dimms, does anyone want to agree/disagree?
i wish someone would reply so i could get an idea how good this OC is compared to other chips,
MSI K8N Neo2 Plat w/ amd 3500+ OC'd to 2.7Ghz w/245FSB
feedback please, am i doing anything wrong? i've just basically done trial and error with various settings and then ran...
well did some more playing around, temps are 19c-case and 33c-cpu idle
vcore is 1.52
core speed: 2640 w/x11 multiplier
htt: 240
memory is freq 240 fsb:dram is cpu/11.0 and cas is 2.5 with 3-3-7 2T on the timings
other then a loser timing is this getting close to upper oc'n levels in cpu...
well i have 2530mhz w/ multi x10; htt 253,
memory freq is 253 also
cas 3,3-3-10
what would i do from here with this loser timing to try and up the cpu speed? just raise the cpu ratio up or is there a dif combo? i also set the vcore up to 1.525 in the bios, cpuz reports it as 1.472...
so keep my memory at same speed as fsb freq?, and just have a looser timing to accomplish this?
now to figure out how to accomplish this, the ram speed choices are 133,166,200 or auto
well i just built my new system, specs are:
MSI k8n neo2 plat w/amd 64 3500+ winchester
thermalright xp-90 w/92mm tornado and both stock case fans
case: thermaltake shark (black)
2gb of OCZ el plat rev2
nvidia 6800gt
audigy 2 zs
2 74gb wd raptors in raid0 (yes i know raid 0 can crash...
well i am just starting to play around with my system, and i think this first overclock is rather decent since im running stock voltages and such a good cpu temp.
the changes i made in the msi bios was
set my fsb freq to 253; kept my 2T 2-2-2 timings, and ratio @ 10
giving 2.53Ghz w/...
