Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I found another problem. When I connect the HDMI, the text looks really bad as if it has been over sharpened. I already adjusted the sharpness down to 0 but the text still look bad.
Edit: found the issue. When connected via HDMI, the Mac think it is some sort of TV and output in the Ypbpr...
I have a PC using the following components:

I recently acquired a new U2413 but I am having trouble with its color. I'm using it with a MacBook Pro, connected via displayport. Out the the box, I notice the monitor is very bright and there is significant difference in Red between my MBP LCD and the monitor's Standard Mode. I changed it to...
You are right about preview builds will no longer activate.
http://news.softpedia.com/news/why-windows-10-build-10525-can-t-be-activated-on-some-pcs-489817.shtml
But I don't think existing preview builds are converted to retail. They still remain in the insider preview program and will have...
I have Windows 10 Insider Preview installed and activated on a (Vista) laptop. But the laptop is becoming unstable and I found an identical replacement. I tried installing the Insider Preview from scratch again but this time it does not activate.
I am not too surprised. But I see that the...
I don't know what is the right term for them. They have no case but appears to use mSATA interface with power. Here is an example:

The 3 and 5 series slimline case has a useless drive bay for HP Pocket Media Drive. Removing it will give room for SSD. You should make sure you have spare SATA port and power though.
I second that SSD isn't very useful for an HTPC. I had one. But for gaming, I think it would be useful.
Just want to share my experience with RMA. I shipped my dead OCZ Vertex 2 120GB ($3 shipping) and got back a refurbished Vertex 3 128GB. (Can't really take advantage of the added speed as my board is SATA II). They ship about 1 day after receiving my drive via UPS Ground. Pretty good experience...
Not sure which slimline you referred to. I installed an E-350 to my s3000 slimline.

It is still going strong.
My SSD (OCZ Vertex 2) failed on me. I used it for just 1.5 years and it is my OS drive. My motherboard does not support AHCI, I wonder if it would cause SSD to fail early? If I find a replacement, is there a way to make it last longer?
(Motherboard is MSI G41TM-E43...
My OCZ Vertex 2 died on me last week. The drive disappeared from BIOS and I tried another PC, another SATA cable with no difference. Pretty sure it is the drive. I am about to start the RMA process and then I see your post.
On what ground do they refuse your warranty claim?
FWIW, I think this $69.99 board will fit in the s3000 cases:

and turn it into an HTPC case. All you need is a cheap HP power adapter. It is not the same as the ASRock E350M1 that I used. But I guess it is similar. The stock PSU is...
I already tried Precision X and there is no option to change fan speed. So I think the resistor is the way to go. But I can't seem to find the power of the fan. Any ideas what is the typical amperage of a small GPU fan?

This is a very interesting idea.
I tried running the card w/o fan and the temp range is 70c to 100c, vs 60c to 70c with fan. I stopped testing after it reached 100c, which is just playing an H.264 video. So I think the temp can definitely go higher. So running without fan is out of the...
I have a BFG GeForce 210 video card that has very loud fan noise. I bought it new a few years ago and I hardly use it because it has a loud fan noise. Today, I took it out for an older PC. I found online that someone mention there is a BIOS update that will fix the fan noise (I think it always...
