    Hurry up with the OLEDs...

How do those Samsung LED TV's compare to OLED's? I know they're twice as much $$$ as LCD's but they look a heck of a lot better and are only 1/2" thick. Plus they're already available up to 60", I think. Instead of only 11" from Sony.

    No Windows OS will install

I haven't seen that error before with Vista or 7 since I've only done dual-boot Linux/Win with WinXP/2000. However, I do know that if you install Linux first, it will write into the drive's boot sector. Windows may be looking for a Windows formatted boot sector. I've always found it easier to...

Does this i7 build make sense?

it always makes me so happy to read about someone building a new computer with a top of the line Intel processor and a top of the line Intel chipset. Why? Because I own 400 shares of Intel. It just keeps going up and up. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Man Killed By Exploding PC

Don't you all remember that video of the asian business man suddenly bursting into flames at a business conference? The lithium battery in his laptop had exploded while on his lap, setting him on fire. This was the famous incident some claims was responsible for Sony making that huge battery...

    Thoughts on a build

The Q6600 is a good n' fast, proven overclockable processor and all but I'd personally go for a newer 45nm variant instead of the older 65nm one

are glossy LCD's better for text clarity/crispness?

glossy gives you richer colors, better for movies and games but it reflects glare making it hard on your eyes for reading text. Matte is best for text. To improve text quality on an LCD, I recommend turning on ClearType, Windows still leaves it off by default. In WinXP, go to Control Panel ->...

how come netbooks dont have a dvd drive?

Like you could ever get H.264 to run smooth on an Atom CPU.

    How efficient is i7 HT?

HT was good on a single core, I remember on single core's that the whole computer would freeze if you were trying to format a floppy disk but HT took care of that and other annoying freezes. Seems pointless on a quad-core to me!

    Windows version for 8gb ram

XP 64 has the worst driver support. I would say, download the "leaked" Windows 7 RC1 from your fave torrent site and know that you will eventually have to wipe your windows partition and buy a copy of Windows 7 when the beta keys time out (you can still get beta keys from windows.com) Other...
