    Well, I've made my choice! It going to be an Eizo, either an L568 or an L768 depending on what my girlfriend thinks suits us best (it's either or for me to be honest), but the 768 seems to have the upper hand at the moment. Thanks for your input guys! :)

    It would be surprising to find any 1280*1024 LCD monitor which isn't 5:4 aspect ratio. Who would want non-square pixels?

    I think pvtgoose is right. 50.000 hours is the number I've seen as well, and, frankly, it's kind of nice to have an excuse to buy new hardware once in a while (a better than "I want it" which my girlfriend isn't very impressed by any more!) ;)
