There is an alternative product called Audiocast M5, witch does the same job sans the optical output (and looks the same). Supports DLNA-Renderer specification natively, so it can be used with a third-party DLNA-aware player.
Check it out here...
In my opinion Thermalright True Spirit 140 Direct is of a very bad design in the CPU-contact department. Termalright must have saved a few bucks by removing the bottom contact plate, but the reduced contact surface isn't going to be compensated by the enormous pressure. A Deepcool Gammaxx 400...
And that's why I am reading [H]ard|OCP - computer enthusiasm taken to the extreme!! Never seen such a devotion as here. Holly shit, you nearly took apart and reassembled this bastard motherboard just to try this idea! Hats down!
Glad you didn't have another cut with that scarry knife :dead:
I was wondering if it would be beneficial temperature-wise if the bottom surface of the IHS (which mates with the CPU die) gets polished. Another thing is what would happen if we reduce the Z-height of the IHS by filing a bit the bottom edge which touches the CPU substrate. Theoretically these...
I am experiencing the same behaviour with my Sapphire Radeon HD 5850. BUT, i figured out that when I activate denoise (from shaders menu) there are no problems playing HD content using DXVA. Go figure...

Tried it, of course, and uninstalled it.
Speed isn't everything. The comfort of use is more important feature in my opinion.
And believe me, Fx is unbeatable in giving the oportunity to the enthusiast user to configure it in the most desired way.
So, Chrome, you have long way to go. Glad we...
I think you are missing the point Kyle is making. The common WallMart customer is not tech savvy enough to make a difference between Windows and Linux (assuming both of the machines are equipped with software and pre-set to some degree). The chances he has ever heard of a Computer OS (not to...
Nice try, but do notice the distorted sound at PCIe=125 MHz. I tried it and firstly I got excited about the relatively high overclock, but then noticed poping during music/movie playback... All this is in case of using the integrated SoundMax HD Audio. No idea what happens when using external...
