No idea where they are at nowadays, but I will vouch for their memory.
My current rig is 7 years old, still running one of their 2 GB sticks from the 4 GB 996599 set, those were the Mushkin Enhanced Blackline kits like this one here. The second one got fried out by a lightning strike this...
OP, I bought & returned two modern IPS monitors and then bought a used SM226BW for like $40. I figured, if I'm gonna get crap, at least I won't be paying much money. I'm satisfied with my decision for now :) And the SM226 is not a bad monitor at all, this is my second one.
I liked the newer Operation Flashpoint games, Dragon Rising and Red River, even though most people didn't. Though, I played co-op with friends so that's probably why I had that much fun with them.
Well, I know I have an old PC, but this seems terribly optimized, because even on low I get awful stuttering, I couldn't even get the race to start on any higher settings. The game just stood there.
The sound seems to have been an afterthought as well. Burnout Paradise had better bike sounds...
Isn't the polarizer what causes the whole viewing angle issue on LCDs?
OLED doesn't use one so I don't see why the LEDs would have any viewing angle problem.
Sounds like you did an image restore, that's a good idea.
However, that feature isn't perfect, so the color still might be off. If you have bias/gain settings somewhere in the monitor's menu I'm betting if you put some time into it you can get it to track nearly perfectly with neutral grey's...
I used to be very anti LCD but I bought an ASUS PB248Q a year ago. I thought - what a nice display, IPS has really come far. The colors were great, I didn't even mind the 60 Hz refresh rate, it was 1920x1200, would have been totally happy with it. But then - that nasty IPS glow in the bottom...
Despite what most people here say I actually liked the monitor more with the AG on, it was usable in a wider range of ambient lighting and the tube did not immediately become washed out the moment you let any light into the room.
Needless to say I'm sorry for your loss, as there is no going...
Because despite being in the minority, there are (thankfully) still people who appreciate the most important aspects of image quality that LCD has so nonchalantly dumped in favor of thinness, light weight and size.
You know, there's a comment I read some 4 or 5 years ago on a YouTube video...
