Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Unlike that says nothing ExtremeTech article, has anyone actually installed Windows onto the iMac and (1) verified that it works and (2) checked what timings it uses? I'd buy an iMac and rip the guts out if it were possible to plug it into a standard PC with a hacked-up displayport cable just...
The FW900 was nothing special in terms of horizontal bandwidth. As said it is based on the NEC/Mits tube, but with slightly better electronics.
I used to run my NEC 2141 maxed out with custom timings at 136Hz at 1280x960 for most things, and 110Hz at 1600x1200 for a few games with bad...
Greatest regret of my life is a bit of an exaggeration, but as far as tech goes, it ranks up there.
I did own a NEC FP2141 (same as the Mitsubishi 2070SB, 22 Diamondtron), which is the 2nd or 3rd best CRT ever made. I don't know if the Sonys were really any better, which is why is wished I...
One of the greatest regrets of my life is having never owned (or even seen) a Sony F520 or FW900. For peace of mind, were they ever actually available in Australia? The G520s were pretty common, my local public library even had a whole bunch of them, but I never saw a F520 or FW900 advertised...
Bit of a bump. But I have a serious question/comment.
The biggest problem with this monitor for consumer use is driving it, since it requires a fancy specialized and expensive video card to produce the four DVI outputs and combine them in the right way. This is, presumably, because at the...
It's a Dell 3007. The card is definetly doing the scaling. "Fixed aspect ratio" results in 640x480 being scaled up to 1280x800 with bars down the sides. "Do not scale" results in 1280x800 with a boarder around all four sides.
I've just upgraded from my 8800GTX to a GTX 285 and as far as I can tell scaling now works perfectly. "Fixed-aspect ratio" and "do not scale" settings now "stick" when changing resolutions. I can't be certain that it will never become unstuck, but so far it's remained working throught multiple...
There seems to be a few different problems. What youre talking about seems to be more related to HDTVs. My problem is that I can't get the "Fixed-aspect ratio" and "Do not scale" settings to work properly. This is with a Dell 3007 and an 8800 GTX. As far as I can tell the problem that I...
