    okay fair enough. Will running a UPS be a suitable work around? (it will be cheaper than forking out for BBU) Im really only concerned about being able to turn on the cache to get better performance. Currently running 1260 in raid6 and the speeds are complete rubbish :(

    write cache and auto verify turned on - out to pick up a UPS. currently getting 30-60MB write speeds but also shopping around for an upgrade. any thoughts on the HP smart array p400? would this be worth getting? Also what are the chances of it running on win 7 64bit?
