Something similar has been reported on a french forum. Apparently, one of the flat cables was being pinched between two pieces of plastic... LG's quality control really needs to level up ! -

I haven't noticed the difference for desktop use, but some people complain about eye fatigue et frequencies lower than 50Mhz. I guess it depends on how sensitive your eyes are. Unfortunately, neither does. To my knowing, this hasn't been mentioned yet for the 34UC97... LinusTechTips' review... -
