$450 build, system chosen need recomendations

For #3, if you could give us a better idea of where you live it would be helpful. There are some stores that have very good in-store deals (ie. Microcenter and Fry's). Don't need your street address, but a major city that you're close to would be awesome...Just a thought.

    New Build, thoughts?

Video card, Processors, Memory, etc...All are trending toward energy efficiency, meaning 3yrs from now your going to need less power, not more. I think you would do fine with a good quality 600w, and save some cash. Just my opinion...

    New Build, thoughts?

1.) I agree with Shadowsong on the RAM, save you money. 2.) Do you really need an 850w psu? 3.) Read review at link below. Cogage True Spirit, better cooler for less money. http://www.hardocp.com/article/2009/07/23/intel_core_i7_heatsink_roundup_q309

    ATI/AMD 4870 vs 5770, Which One?

Between these two video cards, which one would be acceptable for some casual gaming and Blu-ray watching? 4870 - 1GB or 5770 1GB?

Want to build a simple everyday use PC than can be upgraded later on for gaming.

Depending on the mobo choice, you can use DDR2 with a socket AM3 Proc. I've got an HTPC running an Athlon II x2 250 Regor and DDR2-800, Asus M4A785-M mobo...Runs like a champ. Not the best for future upgrades, but cheap and does what I need.

Need help- pc keeps rebooting to POST

Agreed, could be many things, but sounds like PSU or overheating. If the pc gets bumped around a lot, heatsink could be loose.

    New system build...help!

If you have room in your budget, you could go with better video card. I agree with Danny Bui that for your purpose I don't think you would realize a performance boost that would justify the price.

A good wireless keyboard with touchpad or trackball?

I have the iogear keyboard. Works pretty good, but the usb receiver is prone to interference. Using it on an htpc, had to move it away from the cables to get any range.
