Help please...okay so, this is my setup. Yes I am my own form of OCD. This is the last room in the house and we are taking the walls down to the studs in a few weeks. It’s time to upgrade. I want a new desk setup and something way more organized.

All suggestions are on the table. I am tired of using my 25 year old IKEA drafting table that has served me well and has lots of 420 ash stains.

I have a grand to spend on a desk, I also do not need a chair as I have a Aeron. Keep in mind this room already has wired Ethernet so it’s more about getting a nice desk.

I use Bush series A with the hutch, love it. Its been rock solid for 13 years and looks like new. BTW you double posted this.

I dislike them almost as much as modern computers with wood grain bullshit on them.

😅 my next build is gonna be in one of those cases seeing as I wont need to stuff 8+ HDDs in it (next server gonna be rackmounted and so backup drives going in the old/current Synology server, just kept offline), and I can finally make the PC match the room instead of just being a big black monolith

I've been pondering much the same for a couple of months as my current desk is nearly 30 years old. There's nothing wrong with the old girl but it's time to upgrade to something a bit more modern and attractive. I'm going to build my desk but I have to figure out materials (when I can find the time)and style etc.

I will be following your thread closely for ideas ;) good luck!

I didn't buy it for the looks, but I do like the way it looks and I think it matches.

I love my case. Simple and effective. My only gripe about it is that I would like a clear panel to view the inards even though I am not an RGB nut. Those items were on sale when I bought them, lol. I also purchased a truenas a year back and it is def a fun device to play with. I retired all of my windows servers that I used to run.

If you game and do text-based work in your office I'd go for an L-shaped desk setup so you can support separate monitors for work and play. I have one and I love it. OLED for gaming and IPS screens for work, at least in my case. That way you don't have to compromise. 2 keyboards and 2 mice plugged into one rig works just fine. Just rotate your chair.
