John C Dvorak wrote for many computer magazines including Computer Shopper, InfoWorld & PC Magazine during the 80's and 90's and helped at CNET. in the early 2000's he started showing up on This Week In Tech (TWiT). He met ex-MTV VJ (and the real pod father™) Adam Curry (who also was on TWiT from time to time) and they started the No Agenda Podcast in 2007. John and Adam were eventually both banned from TWiT for not being politically correct which solidified their decision to do No Agenda full time. It was around 2011 that someone on this forum casually mentioned the podcast and I tried it out having been familiar with John's writing growing up. I had been listening and donating ever since.
On February 19th 1984 Dvorak wrote in the San Francisco Examiner that the mouse was a reason Apple Inc.’s Macintosh computer would fail: “The Macintosh uses an experimental pointing device called a ‘mouse’. There is no evidence that people want to use these things.”
It had long been reported that John was born in 1952 (making him 74). On the episode after John's passing, Adam and John's wife revealed that John had lied a long time ago about his age during an interview and that the date got picked up by the internet search engines and became fact and so he just went with that. He was actually born in 1946, making him 80.
