over priced? you mean the new console price? this needs an old unit so you wouldnt have been hit by that if you have one...

To correct Steve here, soft-mod just means the modification is in software, not hardware. It could be made (semi-)permanent, and still would be a soft mod, as long as you don't add/change/modify the hardware.
