Ghost of Yōtei (PS5)

Ghost of Yōtei is coming in 2025

Atsu’s journey takes place in 1603, more than 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima...we also wanted to continue to innovate...to create something fresh but familiar, we looked beyond Jin Sakai’s story and the island of Tsushima, and shifted our focus to the idea of the Ghost instead

at Sucker Punch we love origin stories, and we wanted to explore what it could mean to have a new hero wearing a Ghost mask, and uncovering a new legend...this led us to Ghost of Yōtei: a new protagonist, a new story to unfold, and a new region of Japan to explore...

Yeah, that looks pretty good. I was a big fan of Ghost of Tsushima (Though wouldn't play it until the PS5 Director's Cut was released).

Ghost of Tsushima was cool but it get was too repetitive with the over world activities. I should of stayed with the main story but I was burnt out by the time I got to the 3rd area.

I have a Purple PS5 cover I really don't care for it and my Glossy Red One broke from Amazon. I think I would be content with grey.

I'm not impressed if you have to wear that weird covid mask really not a fan. I bet the menus are all the same overview map and gameplay.

Suckerpunch I think is a American company it looks like more of the same.

Covid Mask

That's not a "COVID" mask, it's a face covering popular in Japanese culture.

Plus why the fascination even if it was a medical mask? Who cares?

So far some of the reviews are actually tilting even above the first one. I know not to put a lot of weight into that but safe bet is this is pretty solid. A slam dunk for fans of the first one at least.

This looks alot better the lighting looks way better not sure if Sucker Punch changed the engine used. All I can find is the same in-house engine used.

I still find Wuchang Fallen Feather the better game. Which is a real Chinese game.

There is some varriant differences that is the problem with consoles inability to change up settings.

Seem to run "fantastic", 16 hours of play to see an still above 50 fps slow down before the game is even launched to the public

749.00 for PS5 pro with taxes 69.00 Ghost Ghost of Ghost of Yotei. Just for Ray Tracing I could trade on my PS5. I'm going to wait for the PC version

These Digital Foundry guys are running RT on 4K so there might be hope at 1440p on a regular system.

yes seem so, 1080p-60 fps on the pro is available with RT on (or 1700-1800p-30 fps), close to 1400p-30 fps on the regular PS5.

thats the point of consoles, it just "works"....

TBH, I'm finding myself appreciating that aspect of consoles more and more. With this generation supporting 60 fps for most titles (at least on the Playstation side of things), I'm typically choosing the console version of a game over the PC version. I feel like things are getting closer on my Bazzite 'gaming' box, but suspend features aren't nearly as flawless and seems like 'caching shaders' is too much of a norm this generation.

Honestly buying a Pro was proabaly one of the biggest waste of money. Lots of games are not even getting Pro enhancements.

The worst is when devs feature lock a Pro version of a game (so you can't choose Performance of Quality modes) and the 'enhanced' Pro-exclusive mode looks worse than the base PS5 modes (recent example: Silent Hill f). Still, when Pro PSSR implementation is done right, the image looks great and rivals anything on a comparable PC system imo (ie: Last of Us Part 1).

I was a huge fan of Tsushima (though didn't play it until the PS5 'director's cut' version came out) and am looking forward to Yotei. I currently have a few games to play through, so hopefully can wait for a Autumn/Holiday deal on the game.

Best off waiting for Playstation 6 just in Dark scenes Raytracing pays off. Tarrifs put the PS5 pro into unknown territory. I don't think this game looks better than Fallen Feathers. That game took me by suprise and is half the price. Feels more like the Orient even though its Chinese.

I might just buy it for my regular PS5 could stop by Gamestop pre-order a copy. Walmart is hit and miss for copies like they have one 1 won copy of BL4 for Xbox and PS5.

I honestly don't even know why people bother with consoles anymore... PC is just better in every way possible. Will wait for this on PC...
