Hey everyone, I'm updating my FS thread, it's been a while. I'm going to sell a bunch of graphics cards that I haven't even used in a few years. Recently, I had a bunch of health problems and almost died multiple times so I figure I need to do something about all of this stuff (plus gotta pay those medical bills). I live in a house with my wife and children with my brother, his wife, and children sharing a different part of the house - everyone has gaming computers. I upgraded all of the computers to newer cards a while back and these have just been sitting. I remember buying some of these during the craze for like $500 a card, insane times.

(I live in stafford v.a. so shipping included for the 48 states, if you live outside then we can see how much extra it would be to ship to you and you could just pay the difference.)

ta790gx 128m with a phenom 940 i think (best for motherboard) i remember at one point i had a 955 in it but then it would reset and act weird because after the 940 they did something with the cpus where it got its voltage from some different thing for some part of it, and it would make it unstable. i still also have the riser card so the pci-e_1 slot will work in x16 mode
you put in the other crossfire slot if you are only using one gpu for it. that board was wild one time i tried to do some bitcoin mining on it just to test, and it would work with 8 gpus (2 4 way splitters in each pci-e slot)
4 slots working with 2gb sticks each ddr2-800 (8gb total)
i added a bunch of heatsinks to all of the mosfets on the ta790gx-128m as you can see bcs the board never came with any $55 shipped

m4a785-m with phenom ii x6 1045t also notice i added those copper heatsinks to each of the mosfets bcs they would get hoy just from normal operation with 4x 4gb of these memory modules (16gb total - they are the low density ones that work in anything) $55 shipped

macbook pro and air

my brother gave me these old macbook pro and air laptops. the macbook pro i fixed, i put a new 240gb kingston SSD in it, and installed 16 gb of ddr3 1600 mhz (2 8gb sticks) and also bought a new battery and put it in it. i installed whatever latest macos (i think its catalina) but apparently you can put even newer ones on it if you want. i've never really worked on macs before so this was a fun challenge.

the macbook air will not turn on and i have no clue why. even if i plug the power cable in, nothing happens. i opened it up and all the parts are in it including the ssd.

$30 shipped for the non working macbook air

heres the specs i got when i typed in their infos

-----------------------------------------------------------------(underneath this is my old FS stuff)

hey so i bought some graphics cards for the computers and now the kiddos are happy bcs they can play tons of games which is awesome, but my wife isnt happy because i spent so much $ lol. so i figure i can sell some of my old graphics cards. these cards honestly didnt really get that much use, ever. the 970s i played the witcher on which is crazy that these cards are still at least decent for games of today.

anyway prices include shipping and fees so i figure these should be pretty decent deals. if you want to do any trades idk if i really would want anything other than newer graphics cards right now.

i dont think i have any of the original boxes for any of these so i'll just pack them in a usps box really well.

2. evga gtx 750 ti (i cut the bottom part of the plastic so i could use one of the x1 pci-e slots on the motherboard near it, but it doesnt effect performance at all) - $85 - SOLD

3. gigabyte gtx 950 - $105 - SOLD

4. two zotac gtx 970's $170 each UPDATE BOTH SOLD!!!!!!

5. hd3870 ddr4 $25 - SOLD

I'd like to grab one of those 970's off you.

750ti sold!! so all that is left for now is the hd 6970 so if anyone wants it feel free to make an offer!

Sent a PM to express interest. I'm working on a deal locally, but if that falls through tomorrow, I'll be back if anything is still available.

Which one of these cards would be best for streaming with OBS? I current own a gen1 Ryzen 1700x and my RX580 isn't doing so well encoding my stream. I recently had a chance to test a PNY 1660 super in a customers PC I was working on and was able to crank out a very high quality 1080P stream using the NVENC encoder. Can these cards handle the NVENC encoder?

oh man i've never done streaming or anything but i did find these 2 things, and you can google "1080ti streaming with obs" and i found these:

https://www.reddit.com/r/obs/comments/livzyz/r5_3600_1080ti_stream_settings/

https://www.reddit.com/r/obs/comments/7uqaas/absolute_best_obs_settings_for_a_8700k_1080ti/

and heres the search engine AI slop lol

OBS NVENC 1080ti

For streaming with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti using OBS and NVENC, the recommended settings prioritize quality and stability while leveraging the GPU's encoding capabilities. A common starting point is 720p at 60 fps with a bitrate of 6,000 Kbps, which is considered suitable for platforms like Twitch if your upload speed can support it. This configuration helps maintain visual quality, especially for fast-paced FPS games where pixelation can be a concern.
To achieve the best results with the GTX 1080 Ti's NVENC encoder, use the following encoder settings: Preset set to "Max Quality," Lookahead enabled, Psycho-Visual Tuning (PVT) enabled, and max B-frames set to 3. While the new NVENC improvements in OBS were specifically designed for RTX 20xx series cards and do not provide quality enhancements for older cards like the 1080 Ti, they do offer performance benefits such as reduced CPU usage. It is crucial to ensure that no rescaling is applied in the Video tab, as this can force the encoder to fall back to the older, less efficient method.
For optimal performance, avoid using the "rescale output" option in the encoder settings and ensure the canvas and output resolution match your desired stream size to prevent unnecessary processing. The GTX 1080 Ti has two NVENC chips, allowing it to handle multiple encoding sessions simultaneously, which means you can stream and record locally using NVENC without issues. However, the quality of the stream can be significantly impacted by the game being streamed; highly dynamic games like Apex Legends may show more pixelation compared to less demanding titles, even with high bitrates. Therefore, testing different settings with your specific games and network conditions is essential for finding the best balance between quality and stability.

maybe someone else will know, bcs i have no clue lol

o_o
wow
do you have a 1080 non ti GP?

No need to bump tbh. Def interested in a GP, though would need to gather some cash. I actually really really need one.
Any of the blower cards have super short boards? Optimal use is literally inside a Dell R510 server.

I've been working on modding a 1660ti to have a K4200 block so I can stuff things in neater, though I am now having soldering issues with the ground plane sucking the thermals from my iron. Having 4X the ASIC, I won't care as much about stuffing things in.

no all of my blower cards are the normal length, like the length of a 1080 founders would be i think unfortunately

and wow that sounds like a cool project

and wow that sounds like a cool project
Not really a project. Its the CDN for my job. Really what I need is to go all AMD ASAP, but ATM I am all in on CUDA for GPU CC over the network, so I'm going to just build cash for AMD BC 250's in the meantime to replace the servers. Till then tho I need a big dumb idiot card with a big dumb idiot encoder. Thing is, VCE is a circuit on the chip I can see, NVENC is a soft core, so I'm just like weeeee its all bullshit

bump sold another 1080ti and added a TON of AM2/ AM3 / AM3+ with cpus motherboards and ddr3 memory

sold an evga 1080ti and the 8gb corsair blue memory sticks and bump - plus hopefully i can get the other cards listed asap sorry everyone i was going to do it today but my son hit his head at recess and had to take him to the hospital, hes fine though

bump i added a macbook pro and air, and lowered all motherboard combos to $65 shipped

bump, sold a 1080, and added a bunch of graphics cards, 2060 supers, 2070 supers, 2080's and 3060 12gb's finally, i was going to make some AI servers (because i have a bunch of x79 motherboards i need to list as well), but i dont have the time to mess with it with the health stuff going on
