Sony removes Cyberpunk from the PS playstore

Freaken Sony....

CDPR "This game will not run well on PS4"
Sony "We need Christmas money"
CDPR "OK"
Sony "Customers are wanting refunds"
CDPR "Thank you Sony for damaging our brand".

or vice versa depending on your viewpoint.

I mean CDPR's PR guys kind of said that the game ran great on PS4/XB1 before release... So... Yeah... They kind of said a lot of things, but barely delivered on a quarter of it at current standards... I don't mean the game is horrible, but it's not a AAA quality game worth $60 with the way it shipped minus bugs (so far only bugs are being addressed, the missing/poor feature set issues keep getting dodged).

Yeah, no. I doubt anything like that happened. Sony doesn't care when 3rd party games release. The only one that damaged CPRR's brand was CDPR. The game is broken as fuck on every platform.

My PC experience with it says otherwise - a minor bug here or there after 8-9 hours, but having an absolute blast.

Game should've never been on consoles however.

"My experience" that says it right there. Anecdotal experiences really don't mean much. The PC version seems the best, but I wouldn't call it good by any means. There is no good version of the game. Evenly with my own experiences being fine, there is no way I'd recommend anyone buy the game right now.

Eh. It run fine on the pro for the most. Why is no one complaining about the base xbox one version. It is even worse then the base ps4.

The game is really cool but they aimed too high with graphics. They could have made it with Vulkan and wed be hitting 150 fps at 4k lol with all the candy but thier pride got the best of them.

I'm sure Micro$oft had a say in that.

Runs smooth on my rig 3800X / 980ti oc'd 1080p high no motion blur / depth of field 52-62fps fine for me.

It is bullshit, bugs or not.

what i heard was it's because of wokeness? not sure if that's true yet...

really is this is about the 1st gen consoles because they are having the worst performance but they don't want to be accused of discrimination. they got shot in the foot for releasing it for last gen consoles. you can't expect and industry changing title to run on a 10 yr old AMD Jaguar chipset. Sounds more like the publisher's should be the ones punished more than the developer.

People do KNOW that the original FAR CRY was out on PC years before consoles kids even heard the words in the same sentence. hell just think about Doom... even when it did come out on console, years after its inception, it was basically neutered compared to the experience of playing on PC.

Well this is one of those games, a true "next gen" title. Sorry console kids can't run it yet. but be mad at the publishers not the devs. they've been working their asses off for 8 yrs on this and just because they can't get it to run on a 10 yr old APU they're the ones that are being harrased and punished? na, man, just sad that there is so many people that are on the brainwashed social media train and are big fans of cancel culture, that will never get to experience this game, only because of social prejudice.

imo, game rocks. see you in night city.

Not sure how the developper are more punished than the publisher by a game being removed from a gamestore, this is all publisher (CD Projekt) getting punished no ?

Has for the rumors that the delay was about a specific GPU performance, that would have been quite out of touch with the situation if that GPU was not the original PS4 one.

well f*** sony too. i just have seen a lot of trash talk against CDPR over the last couple weeks because of performance and/or bugs (which have been patched out). but if they would have just made it pc / next gen only we wouldn't be hearing anything right now but praise. but nothing is being said about how it was the publishers / console makers that pushed this turd of a port out to the public. i don't think the devs like to imagine people playing their baby at 15-24fps on low... it was the greedy people at the top that forced this whole situation and now want to shift the blame on anyone but themselves.

Not even remotely surprised. They could have just removed it from being bought for the original ps4, or just last gen if in fact that was the only problem. But it’s not. It’s removed from the entire platform. This game was half assed cobbled at best. And yes I’ve played it through on a high end of setup and it had its fair share of issues. I can’t imaging playing it on older pc hardware or last gen consoles.

Sony/Microsoft aren't responsible outside of distributing certifications, from what I understand. It's totally on CDPR and investor influence pushing for a holiday release that created this mess.

I'm a bit concerned they may have released it in this state to deflect from the state of the core-game, because once you finish act one or jump directly into the open-world you begin to realize all the issues with the game (if the mediocre gameplay didn't hit you from the start). The story starts out pretty strong, but once you hit that montage... The game really needed a lot more time in the oven to deliver even half of what the devs talked about.

Same here. Have played about 6 hours now and only bug I've noticed was a minor clipping issues with an NPC's handgun.

How they thought releasing the game on a console who's rendering power is literally 1/2 that of the minimum recommended GPU on PC, I've no idea. I do have a sneaking suspicion the decision was influenced by money.

Good, they should never have marketed it towards prior gen consoles in the first place, not at launch, CDPR screwed themselves in that regard.

They should have released on PC and next gen, get the bugs out and the game optimized, and only then stripped the game down to its bones so it could run on a potato.

Outside of some bugs the PC version is 'good' and runs fine on my PC.

CDPR is the publisher and they have no one but themselves to blame.

This is sad. The game looks good, but not drastically better than any popular PS4 game.

Lots of titles had good graphics and still ran okay (though we are probably talking 1080p 30 fps, still).

This got me thinking. I think the problem is with shadows, I wonder how the game draws shadows? Does it draw them only when in view of the player or does it draw the entire scene regardless of walls or field of vision? Kind of like the issue with Fallout 4 in downtown Boston. I've seen videos in Cyberpunk where a player is looking one direction and their fps are fine, then looks another and the fps tanks, same as in Fallout 4 in downtown Boston.

I understand these are two totally different engines, but they could suffer from the same issue.

Or maybe its just poorly coded and bloated with BS.

They must of really heard backlash from customers otherwise they wouldn't have pulled the game. I still haven't played the game but plan on it in two weeks.

This will create a real demand for the game for the PC or Next Gen consoles which are already in short supply thanks to scalpers and the pandemic thus being right around Christmas is also bad.

Sony did the same thing with the horror game PT.

On cynical hindsight, maybe it ran "surprisingly well", as in they were surprised it ran at all... :D

Anyway, on one hand CDProjekt deserves all the criticism they got for not being open about the state of the game. They managed to ruin all of the goodwill they have gathered from gamers in one fell swoop. What were they thinking!? But on the other hand I am also sad at the situation because the game is honestly really good (PC player here, luckily no major bugs encountered), the story and characters are great and the world they have managed to build is simply breathtaking. And I swear I am not quoting Keanu Reeves here, my own words. It is sad that a release that should have been amazing is now spoiled by this fiasco...

Cyberpunk Woke? Honestly, I would not say so, I do not feel like the game is preaching about anything. The world in this game is a pure dystopia, an example where everything has gone wrong and everything is fetishified to the extreme, same sex or no. Even a bloody dogfood advertisement has titties in it! It is so wrong and I love it!

I still haven't played this title, i'm waiting for a msrp 3070. I figure by the time i'm able to secure one this game will be patched. However, I defended CDPR before but I see that it was a mistake. The burned through so much goodwill, so quickly.

Why did they even launch a ps4/xbox one version if it's going to run like garbage?!?!?
