Zen 3 Launch Availability

When will it be possible to buy a Zen 3 cpu without using a bot or paying Scalper rates?

Yah, I just don't want to deal with the return process. Not that it's that big of a deal, but I have an order in with amazon for just the CPU and it is supposedly shipping around Dec 2nd. That's close enough that my cares are bottoming out as far as getting it any sooner. Just not that motivated.

That sucks man. What happens when you're in a huge hurry. Been there myself.
In retrospect, I know exactly what happened.

I normally use Chrome with a javascript blocker (uMatrix). The cart page would open, and then close immediately, so instead of mucking with uMatrix, I copy and pasted the store page into firefox (no blockers), and quick clicked on X950, buy, paypal, buy. Once I hit the confirmation page, I realized by loading the page in another browser, it automatically switched to 3950 (right... because I want to buy last gen tech now). I immediately tried to cancel the order and found "sorry, once you've hit buy, your SOL. Refuse shipping".

Anyone know if I can refuse shipping before the damn thing even leaves the warehouse?

Call Amazon and say there was an error on your order. They usually are quick and easy once you grt them on the phone. You will have to Google for the phone number though.

Not amazon - AMD direct, which uses digital river I believe. All of the order confirmation stuff says:

  • How do I cancel my order?
    • Once an order has been processed it is immediately sent to the warehouse for shipping and cannot be changed nor cancelled. You may reject the package upon arrival and the carrier will return it to our warehouse. Once received and processed at our warehouse, we will withdraw the order and reverse your payment.

I have notifications set on Amazon for 5900x and 5950x and I don't believe I've seen a single notification. Maybe next week....

They've both come in and out of stock a few times since release. Thing is that they come in and out of stock so quickly that the notifications typically don't even trigger.

Gotcha. Regardless, call the service line and bitch. Usually works.
Depends on how big the corporation is. At a certain point all you do is add to the already high frustration level of the people who answer the phones who can't really do anything. (I'm thinking of a certain wireless "carrier"...)

Best Buy's got a few with of all three with a promise of 4-5 day wait.

Managed to secure a 5900X for my buddy that has been looking for one!

got a 5800x instead of the 5900x I wanted. Oh well! If anyone wants to make a few bucks trading their 5900x let me know :)

YES!!!...I finally did it...ordered a 5800X a few minutes ago from Best Buy!!...they made me go through so many verifications...they even sent a code to my e-mail as a final verification...I was worried by the time it was all done that it would be sold out

I am guessing B&H would be the last place I should look for a 5950X? I think some people were mentioning March shipping estimates?

5900x and 5950x went quickly, while the others are in stock. My guess is that AMD is prioritizing the 5800x and 5600x because it's the holiday season and those are the CPUs most will buy. I've seen a couple of chances to get a 5800x but I'll just keep waiting. If anyone has a spare 5900x or 5950x, I'd be willing to pay a modest finder fee on top of the price you paid. :D

Don't bother. I preordered from B&H late on the morning of 11/5 and the email I got said it would be AFTER March before I'd see it.

sometimes those dates are just placeholders...Amazon does that all the time and then they move up the date...as long as they don't charge you before it ships then no harm keeping the order active

I've seen the Best Buy add to cart several times for the 5900X now and it gives me the "one more step" message that says to try again. It still isn't adding or giving any more instructions. What am I missing?

might be a bug, 5900x looks OOS to me. You have to wait for the add to cart button again, but it won't reappear of the item is OOS already. It should change to out of stock instead of please wait.

I would trust Amazon to move the date up. I wouldn't trust B&H. I mean, it certainly doesn't hurt to place a preorder at B&H but just be aware that you're very likely to find it elsewhere sooner so don't forget to go back and kill your B&H preorder.

Same with Best buy...I mean I immediately added to the cart after notification and then stooooopid website says pick store, so I pick local goto checkout then says pick store like frekkin' 10 times...5 miles distance changes to 350 miles to unavailable....then i choose free shipping...oh guess what? OOS.....Frekking lame....

Happened to me on the 3080fe. Stayed in my cart but I literally couldn't pick it up anywhere or get it shipped.

Almost caved and bought a 5800X. Found some self control and decided to hold out. I am looking for a 5900X or 5950X and can't even put them in my build until I can get a 6800/XT. Looks like I'll be rocking this 3400G for a while lol.

Got notification from discord that it was available on Best Buy. Hard to beat bots. Couldn’t even add it to cart lol.

May be next week so my off week. I’ll get one. But I might as well just wait till 2020. eBay is the place to buy any new tech now lol. Might be searching till January.

One of my buddies messaged me about building a computer dedicated to scalping so this shit is the real deal now in gaming and cpu products. I mean it’s mainstream like mining crypto was when eth was.

Fuck I got another notification while typing this it’s on Best Buy and still couldn’t add it to cart. Hahaha.

Stuck on "please wait"

that's part of their verification system...they make you add it to your cart twice...don't refresh or back out when you see that...that means you have a shot at it...it'll eventually turn back into the yellow 'add to cart' button...I had to wait ~5 minutes with that 'Please Wait' button before it switched

Make sure if after you guys hit "Add to Cart" and it switches to "Please Wait" that you aren't leaving the page or refreshing. Apparently that can screw it up. I've successfully purchased 3 items from Best Buy just by waiting for the button to turn back yellow with "Add to Cart".

Bets buys "please wait" system is a frekking joke..... I got a million things to do today and i'm sitting here waiting for the 'Ding ding" notification so I can blast my ass to the site just to wait in the "Please wait" f'in que and oh here u go- "sold OUT"
F this- im going to sleep

What is BB doing-Releasing like 10 every few minutes?

they haven't had a Zen 3 re-stock in weeks so it looks like they got a big drop today...luckily I was monitoring the NowInStock chat right as the Best Buy drop happened and got lucky (5800X)

my friends from south, you are so lucky... at least you have Amazon and Best Buy to buy from..... Up north, Amazon Canada never had any zen3 CPUs in stock and Best Buy Canada is not selling them. We are at the mercy of local computer stores (huge waiting queues) or Newegg Canada (overpriced) if we get lucky.... :banghead:

Micro Center in St. Louis Park, MN is showing 10+ of the 5800X, at the time of this post.
