Radeon 6000 series speculation

If performance is legit I'll be getting a 6800xt, the first non nvidia card to go in my main machine since the riva 128. Nvidia fked up when it gimped the vram of the 3080. (so glad I cancelled my back order for a 3080 now)

Not really sure who this guy is and if he is even credible, but saw this and decided to post it anyways for anyone interested. This guy seems to think AMD has an open source DLSS-like feature coming down the line that would work with PS5 and Xbox Series X as well.

thought they already did and:

I'm actually glad I waited / couldn't buy a 3080 now. After seeing the 6800/6900xt reveal today, I'm sure there's a lot of 3090 buyers remorse since the 6900xt looks to be on average the same or slightly faster for $500 less. I'm so glad Nvidia got the slap the face they deserve for gimping the 3080 VRAM and gouging the 3090 pricing. No wonder Nvidia cancelled the 20GB 3080 and looks to be rushing out a 3080Ti (which I'm willing to bet will be price at $999 (or less) to compete with 6900XT.

6900XT with waterblock hear I come! Nvidia screw you!

FINALLY, AMD GPUs are looking to live up to the hype. Nvidia forums seem quiet now...

The 16 GB of memory really give it an edge. Looking forward to the midgrade 12 GB (192 bit) and budget 8 GB models (128 bit). AMD really has an edge with the infinity cache as nVidia will need expensive GDDR6X and/or a 320+ bit bus.

Smart Access Memory (SAM) has some potential as well. For those wanting to increase their memory before ddr5 gets popular, it looks to be unnecessary with these cards.

I've been refreshing (pun intended) my freesync options the last 2 days as I figured Big Navi was gonna be good.

If 1440/144 is in your wheelhouse, I picked up a LG 32-850F last year from Costco. It was on a great sale, $299 after $300 off. I've been real happy with it after a calibration, although I haven't been able to get the HDR to work worth a shit. It's only HDR 400, so no great loss.

If there is availability a 6900XT should be heading my way in Dec... Will be my first AMD GPU (not counting the previous ATI cards I've owned).

Hopefully with a 5950 CPU... Combo perhaps?

Much nicer than the TUF, which someone ran over and then backed over (double tapped), hence the dual tread marks.

(Really, ASUS, tread marks for the aesthetic?)
If they're anything like the 3080/3090 TUF cards; they'll use good components, cooler materials, and have really good acoustics and thermals. Basically seem like an excellent choice for anyone not looking to overclock much while keeping the price low.

Yes, I know. Just commenting on the lame graphic.

I hope they release lower tier cards.

Just want the one thats going to be a bit faster than the 5700XT. Still waiting to hear on that. I guess if they ramp up the 5700XT speeds to make a 5800XT that may do.

I need a processor and GPU for my new build so I'm all in. I'm just hoping I can actually purchase both.
Nice, I built my current rig this past July with a Ryzen 7 3700X but I may upgrade to a 5000 series Ryzen processor sometime down the line so if I get a 6800XT I'll benefit from Smart Access Memory.

Looks like more benchmarks have been published with SMA on.

Wow.

The 6800xt gives the 3090 a run for its money when paired with a 5XXX cpu, especially at 1440p.
Wow! Impressive results, hope they hold up under scrutiny. 6800XT is toasting the 3080 and the 6900XT the 3090 and the 6800 is to the moon over the 2080Ti hence the 3070.

I have the same one. Got mine last year also at Microcenter for $299, Its a great monitor and Gsync compatible. Have it running on my 2070 just fine with no skipped frames (Must use Display Port). That being said, I'll probably be getting a 6800XT and giving the 2070 to my dad.

Holy crap! Look at that price to performance compared to Nvidia!

RIP 3090/3080.

Its worked great with my 1080ti using Freesync. I had some issues with the first FS compatible driver using my import 43" 4k panel, but by the time I bought this one it's been great.

Have you had any luck using HDR? Enabling it in windows results in a orange hue over the whole screen. I suppose It might need to be recalibrated and a new icm profile generated to use with HDR

To be honest I haven't messed with the HDR setting. I do a lot of Adobe on it and the 10bit mode has been great! If I remember when I get home from work I'll try it out and let you know.

Why are Nvidia fanatics now yelling, "but but NVIDIA HAS DLSS!" ??
Deep learning super sampling DLSS is just fancy named marketing for image upscaling and upscaling, no matter how "derp learning", is not as sharp as true 4K.
I think most sites that slobbered over DLSS in their articles were just slobbering over the money and clicks from fanbase, like "PhysX","GameWorks" and "CueCats".
