Hello.

I have a Acer XB273KP 4k 144hz monitor. When the monitor is wakened from sleep, i have Displayport deep sleep activated, the monitor drops from whatever HZ i have set it to(usually 120hz or 144hz) to 82hz. I have to unplug the powercord or apply&reboot overclock in the osd again.

Anyone had same problem and hopefully a fix?

I had to think for a second what HZ was. Generally refresh rate is how you describe that.

Disable deep sleep and try again.

Sorry about that English is not my native language.

Yes, but if i disable it the fan in the monitor always runs.

Sounds like it's defective then, especially if the fan is loud. Have you tried a different video cable, just to rule that out?

I have been through 5 different monitor of this kind. They all have had the same issue. I have tried with both stock cable and a brand new one. The fan is not loud, but it always runs.

Yes, that is one way to fix it. But then the fan will not stop spinning. I don't mind it spinning when i am not there, but it can't be good or right?
no its fine. if its idling it will slow down, should anyways.

I can see how the constant fan running would be annoying. Plus you have the knowledge that you are wearing out the bearings on that fan and down the road when it dies, it could kill the input board. Bad design if that’s the way it works.

that wont happen.

So it is correct that the fan should be on at all times even og the monitor is turned off? At least this way i don't get the dropping to 82hz issue.
yeah it will always run but will slow down as the cpu slows down(if your cpu speed isnt locked) so wear will go way down. chances are you will move on from it before it fails. ive never had a fan just completely stop working, i retire them when they get noisy.

Is the fan in the monitor linked to my CPU?

oh oops. i didnt realize that the monitor had one. i though op was worried about the cpu fan running all the time if the computer didnt go to sleep.

thats kinda dumb. looked at what oliver link and youre probably sol. there isnt a hard switch on it by chance? have you tried installing the driver? not that i really think it will help but its worth trying.

Yes it is totally dumb. No hard switch and i have not tried to install the driver. I downloaded it but unsure about how you install it😂

There was no solution in that link....only bitching about the fact that there is a fan😂

For the fan issue, pull the power cable out! The fan will not spin then guaranteed!!!! If it does, KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!!!

As for the refresh rate issue, I would install the driver you say you have via Device Manager (right click the monitor listed under Monitors, update driver & direct it to the INF file for the driver package that you have). Also update the drivers for the graphics card to latest version as well as you can almost guarantee that it will be that the graphics card & the monitor do not understand each others full capabilities together hence why it is dropping the refresh rate down upon coming out of sleep.

I Will try this😊 Not the unplugging....haha! But the driver. If i get it to work i still can enable the deep sleep so the fan can take a break😂
