Tripp Lite UPS experience?

Ya got a smart XS1500. Battery died after a year or two. So it's a good clean power source. Too cheap to replace the battery, but nice display.
 
i have 1 big 1400 tripplite ups it does great just like the others, and have several of their isobars - 4,6,8 and they work great

i've used the cyberpower ups...have 4 of them along side a belkin as well

i always get my replacement batteries from batteryshark

if at all possible, get a sine wave correcting ups.

it keeps your stuff alive longer. i had a dlp tv last a very very long time because it was on one.
more so if you are in a area that has low voltage brownouts

I use a Tripp Lite SMX1500LCD UPS in my rackmount at home.. no issues with it in 3 years. Batteries still hold.

Cyberpower is a trash brand that shouldn't be used for any reason. They deliberately use proprietary batteries in many (but not all) of their models, forcing you to buy batteries from them and nobody else. But when they discontinue the model, they stop stocking the battery for that unit and release a different proprietary battery that won't work, forcing you to buy a new UPS. Another demerit is they often have no battery servicing bay, so you have to completely disassemble the unit to get at the battery.

Tripp-Lite or APC are better brands that usually don't use proprietary crap and can be easily serviced.

I have four of them and I'm quite happy with mine. Mine have given me zero problems.U serviceable battery access was not a feature I was even looking for. To each their own.

I mean if you want to spend ~$300 every 2-4 years for an entirely new UPS and contribute to the already horrific E-Waste disposable economy culture, that's your choice. I choose not to reward terrible companies that practice anti-consumer behavior and contribute to E-Waste by making nonsense disposable products.

Some of my UPSes are almost 20 years old and still work great because they have standard replaceable batteries. It looks like your model may have standard batteries, but it doesn't change the fact they have dozens more with proprietary batteries that make them paperweights after the battery is EOL.

I paid $120 each for mine. I have 4 and they've all worked flawlessly for almost 2 years. Why are you so angry dude?

What on earth makes you think I'm angry? I'm disagreeing with you for suggesting buying products from a trash company.
 
I've only had 1, a consumer unit, 650va-ish. Wasn't impressed. Didn't last long. Went back to APC. I have some APCs that are almost 15 years old that have only needed battery replacements. They are just built well. They are also built in the Phillipines, not China. eff the commies.

I have had some bad luck at work with this brand. I have had many failures early in life where CyberPower or APC units have survived several battery replacement cycles.
