To hold me over for the meh RTX 20 generation I got a used 1080ti. I got the ubiquitous EVGA SC Black model. However having an EVGA GTX 1060 SC in my girlfriend's pc I know their fan design from the Pascal generation is awful. The recurved (backwards curved?) fan blade from that generation doesn't move as much air as a normal fan blade and in my opinion it's noisier than a similarly sized normal shaped fan. I was really unimpressed with the fan on the 1060 and I replaced it with a Arctic Accelero Xtreme 3 cooler with Noctua fans (yeah I know super overkill and I love it).
I want to keep the stock ICX cooler on the 1080ti, but I'd like to replace the fans. It'll be in a super small form factor case so after market cooler is not an option here.
I noticed EVGA's RTX cards have normal fans. Would it be possible to swap out the 1080ti fans for some EVGA RTX fans? Or any other normal shaped fan? I know a lot of times the fans used on gpu's are generic and made by one of two companies, delta and sunon(?) and can often be found on AliExpress or other direct from China options.
Anyone have suggestions on replacement fans?
