Red Dead Redemption 2 Gets a New Trailer

After teasing it this morning, Rockstar released their second trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. For those who missed it, you can see the first trailer in the link. Unfortunately, it looks like the game isn't coming to PC anytime soon, which is a bit surprising since GTA was commercially successful on the platform.

Captured entirely from in-game footage, watch this introduction to Red Dead Redemption 2's gameplay in 4K. Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming October 26, 2018 to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems.

I'm inclined to agree. No PC, don't care. Sure, SOME of the people here might care. Then again, SOME of the people also care about cars. Or football. Or any number of non-[H] matters.
 
I have high hopes for this to hit PC, this trailer got my six shooter all barrel hot. :p

I took that friday off to play this game. My WestWorld fix can't come soon enough.

just watched trailer @ 120fps :nurse:

shooting has its improvements, no zoom in when aiming. cinematic camera mode, first person(if u like it) :p

its 1920x2160 "4k"

It's coming to PC, they'll just do their usual cocktease of announcing it for PC 9 months after console release, and release it a year and half after.

Estimates:

August 2019: RDR 2 announced for PC.
May 2020: RDR 2 released for PC.

After the total lack of SP support for GTAV, I'm gonna wait and see where R* goes with this one.

What lack of support? The game ran great and had a hell of a lot content to keep you busy with the base game. I have respect for a company to release a complete game and not shove season passes and dlc down your throat. The online portion was different but I don't play online.
 
The game that always gets massive attention even on PC gaming sites... just because it pisses everyone off.

I swear they just laugh and use it for PR now. It's become a legend in it's own time... because of the LACK of PC suport!

I agree. It's literally not PC related in any way shape or form. Leave these posts for the Gaming -> Console section. Definitely not "news".

Well, yeah. There's no reason to not have a PC version...literally zero reason...every Rockstar game on PC sells well and clearly there's a market for it so I don't see how we aren't supposed to be upset that they're basically just telling us to go fuck ourselves. We don't care to see news about something that isn't PC related that we can't play. I see nothing wrong with that.

I agree, it's silly. Not everything gets released on PC. That's why I own a Switch and a PS4 in addition to my PC. I know some just refuse to won a console because PC Master Race, or they can only play games well using a keyboard/mouse. I also agree that it's silly for R* to not release RDR and its sequel on PC. But I don't see any reason to ban news on RDR2 from the front page. R* won't care, so there's no point.

Its 3840x2160 30fps for me. Are you viewing it on a 4k display?

Yep. There are always going to be tantruming children that don't quite grasp that videogame development is a business, not fanboy highschool. And very little of this forum's Front Page News is PC-specific anyway.

Rockstar's last big open-worlder, GTA5, is the most profitable entertainment product of all time at around 6 Billion dollars. There were the people swearing "They won't get my money until PC release" about GTA5 as well -- irrelevant as a drop in the ocean. GTA5's multiple-gen console release and eventual PC release were all staggered too -- love it or hate it, it's just how it is. To Rockstar's credit, when the PC version did come out it was pretty much flawless.

They clearly have a formula that works for them , an insane amount of analytics go into things like release dates and staggering the platform releases. Sure I'd like it on PC day one rather than playing it on my PS4 Pro, but I'm also an adult and outgrew the whole yelling-at-the-TV thing a long time ago.

This is one of the biggest, most anticipated titles in years, and may not reach GTA5's high watermark, but will gross into the billions when all's said and done. That's why it's news everywhere. I've been waiting for eight years for RDR2, after being completely enamored with the first in 2010. Can't wait for day one.

They'll probably bring to to pc when sales level off on the console versions, much like they did with gta v which gave the game a whole new lease of life.

Hah. Well I'd have no problem buying an Xbox One X just for this title if there was a meaningful difference in the experience. But platform parity is actually a business decision and R* will not go out of their way to make one console version significantly better than the other. Why that is, is a whole 'nuther discussion.

I am but a peasant-- I only have an Xbox One and ps4 for current gen consoles -- none of the fancy revisions.

I'm not even sure which is faster anymore. My PS4 is hooked up to the office TV (1080p, so not [H]) for Spider-Man which IMO is GOTY material. I eagerly await the calls for banning discussion on that game-- you know because even all the console peasants don't have access to it.

I really do think you are correct though about RDR2. It will come to PC when they feel its advantageous. Just like every game before.

You missed out. I think I wore out the RDR disc on my multiple Xbox360's. Easily in my Top3 of all time.

RDR2 has been a long time coming, its going to be a new high watermark in open world games. I prefer playing on a PC as well when there's the option, but this is one of those exceptions that come along very rarely in gaming, and I gladly buy a console just to play this game. You can always sell the console after you've played it to death.

It's a struggle really, to buy a game on console and PC. I'm debating the same thing right now for Mega Man 11 on switch or PC. probably buy both once the console version goes on sale. Hah.

Not sure your point. Both Sony and MS play fast and loose with the dishonest use of "4K" as marketing fluff for consoles that simply don't have the raw power for uncompromising 4K60.

No console is going to play this at proper 4K60, period. The eventual PC version and a 1080Ti will be needed for uncompromising 4K60.

Will the XOneX do "4K" at 25-30FPS with slightly more pixels? Cool, mazeltov, enjoy skull-hammering, migraine inducing 25-30FPS.

For me this is a 1080p60 game until it hits PC. 30fps with dips is intolerable. At 1080p60 it won't matter which you play it on PS4 Pro or XoneX.

still 30fps.


XoneX is more powerful and has magic sauce ;)
