Strange SSD Speeds

Hi, all. The speeds for the D: drive are not possible. Just looking for some kind of explanation.

C: is a two year old Kingston SV300 128 GB SSD. Boot Drive + Some Stuff.

D: is a 4 month old Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD. Current Games + Stuff. Rapid Mode On.


My system, see Sig, is only SATA II.

Rapid mode can't be such a big deal. It's just using my system RAM.


Any ideas? Rapid Mode on the Evo 850 isn't supposed to make much of a difference.

Yeah, that's pretty much how a RAM disk/cache works.

The numbers are fine, the test probably never drifts out of the cache and gets absurd numbers.
 
As I have 24 GB RAM, is Rapid Mode worth keeping on, especially with an old computer like mine, SATA II?
 
Rapidmode does that. The numbers aren't really representative of real-world usage speed though.

I have an 840 Pro with Rapidmode on as well with crazy numbers. But you'll probably notice rapid on/off won't make much difference at all realistically.
 
ReaperX22, yeah, I never thought the scores would reflect to day to day usage, especially with SATA II.

I wonder if I should even bother with Rapid Mode.
 
Since the speeds of the two SSDs, without Rapid Mode, favor the 850 EVO, would it be worthwhile to make the 850 EVO the boot drive?
