So I am thinking of downgrading from my Corsair 570X case. It was an impulse buy because of how beautiful it is, but the case is huge and takes up room on my little desk.

I was looking at some midsized cases, but it seems very few offer 5.25" drive bays anymore.

So, I'm looking for a case that has at least 1 5.25" slot for my DVD burner. I have been exclusively using Corsair cases and was likely going to get yet another 300R, but figured I'd ask for any other suggestions. I like the Riotoro CR480 as well, but have no experience with them and have never seen one in person. I have been looking at Fractal, Phanteks, etc.

Any suggestions, especially ones you've owned or worked on? Thanks!

Phanteks Enthoo Pro M. I bought one before realizing that my 360 radiator couldn't co-exist with the 5.25" (removable) external drive bay which is why I ended up purchasing the case in my sig.

I was hoping to be around $100 or less, but could expand that if I were to sell the 570X.

I am really liking this Cooler master case, although it isn't the smallest:

Also, as Algrim mentioned, Enthoo Pro M by Phanteks looks really good. Phanteks stuff is really well made:

And as a more budget oriented option, Focus G by Fractal isn't bad at all. It has good ventilation and surprisingly good paint job. Just got it for an upcoming build for one of my nephews.

I've got a Corsair 350D (uATX only) in service now, but I have a 450D waiting for my next build since I'll be transitioning back to standard ATX (or E-ATX, which the 450D will handle)...and it's not much taller than the 350D, but it's roughly the same size as the 570X...

Some that I've found which may be worth you looking at:

Apevia X-Harmony (budget brand, top-mounted controls/ports)
17.75" high, 7.8" wide, 17.3" deep

Cougar MX330 (Enermax's budget-friendly brand, but should still be decent...has quite a protrusion on top which increases overall chassis height)
18.6" high, 7.0" wide, 16.8" deep

Rosewill Magnetar (I've worked with a few Rosewill cases which were uATX sized only, and most are made of thin, flimsy sheet metal...not sure about this one)
17.32" high, 8.27" wide, 17.13" deep

BitFenix Nova TG (might be the best of the bunch in my post, only counting the above)
17.2" high, 7.91" wide, 18.31" deep

Corsair 450D (my preference)
19.5" tall, 8.3" wide, 19.6" deep

Phanteks Enthoo Pro M TG (another taller ATX chassis, but damn good quality and easy to work with...also avail in black and gray)
18.9" tall, 9.25" wide, 19.7" deep

Plenty to research! I had been looking at the Focus G in Red because I have red fans from Corsair. I've never used Fractal before and wondered if it was cheaply made because of the price.

It's not bad, especially once you populate the interior with components. Of course, fractal didn't use the thickest metal in this one and window is acrylic vs glass, but I think it's well designed for the price, in addition that paint looks quite good.

I just read through my most recent Maximum PC and they seem to really like the BitFenix Nova TG. More options than I expected.

I've got nothing. I just thought it was funny that you were downgrading from a 570x due it being too big. I am in the process of moving my system from a 800D to a 570x, because it is smaller, and the 800d would not fit on my desk.
